Got my tix for Houston, section 430!, hoping i can make it out to Safeco as well, and even considering a Yankees Angels matchup?? Whaaaa? Is it wrong to spend $60 on teams that put on a good show instead of fielding a AAAA team? It's like $20 right now just to sit in the corner of Angel Stadium against the Dodgers in June.

Excellent article posted by ML! "Fans of drinking age have never seen a great pennant race. That's sad." Yup! That's why i accept the WC, because i don't know what it's like without it.......but now i'm siding with the old guard. I totally forgot about Spice channel, lol. I would imagine September WOULD BE your additional playoffs, you have the pennant chases, sell outs every night and the last half of the month has an October atmosphere, i bet that's what it's like. Nationally every fan would pay attention, if they don't well they aren't real fans and you don't make that much money off of them anyway so who cares?

Pitching for the first time since July 2010, he threw 2 innings of shutout ball, giving up one hit, no walks. His fastball peaked at 82 mph. Woo-hoo! Moyer is back!

I'd love to see him pitch this year. He may be able to get to like 2500 Ks and ~275 wins

That'd require him to collect... let's see... 8 wins, 95 K's? Yeah those milestones seem reachable. The Rockies pitching staff looks really weak this year. I'd be surprised if Moyer doesn't make the roster as a spot-starter / long reliever, or maybe even as the 5th starter.

Oh you know it!! I know this is where they want to go, completely changing the game as you've known it. 15 jobs for more bums who can't play anymore, but can hit better than a pitcher, more dough for the agent/player, pitchers don't risk getting hurt. Andy Pettitte is apparently attempting a comeback with the Yankees. I don't see any room for him on the roster. Their rotation is pretty much set already.

Out of the blue, but you can never have too much pitching.

And on the seventh day, God rested. Having created the heavens and the Earth, the seas and all they contain, He ceased all labors. But the seventh day being a Sunday, and with all of His fantasy teams playing, He needed a shortstop. So God created Derek Jeter, and blessed him, and said unto him, be fruitful. And Jeter was good. Jeter held dominion over opposing pitchers (.343 AVG in 2006), was plentiful in power (14 HR and 97 RBIs), and moved over the earth (34 steals) and across home plate (118 runs). And God blessed Jeter, and sanctified him, and said to Roto owners everywhere, make Jeter your No. 1 middle infielder.

Even if he won't be ready for a while, you're right. He's a guy who can win and has won, and with Garcia and Hughes' uncertainty, he may be needed.

Good article from Joel Sherman about the Jays and the tight AL East race. From the New York Post: http://www.nypost.com/p/sports/yankees/with_talent_and_money_blue_jays_796LuKqhKbUBs1IzOyGrHK

AP was big for the Yankees, more so than all the hype players they've signed in recent memory, but went under the radar it seems. Nice pick-up, a shame nobody has taken a shot on Oswalt yet.

So this dude who said he had billions of dollars in mining or whatever and was a dark horse in the ownership bids, rallied for local support and social media support to buy the team, was questioned by some including a Dodger blog where he actually signed in and chatted with people defending himself........................is supposedly a con man drug dealer With no money and a record lol whut? Joba's season likely done. Dislocated right ankle playing with son.

    ESPN

Too bad for him, it hurts the Yanks, but not by too much. It'll give some of their young talent an opportunity to compete for an open spot somewhere in the organization. I see a, "Trampolines are strictly forbidden" clause in upcoming contract stipulations.

Joba needs to go away, no he can jump on a trampoline in the summer. We have a strong bullpen, slide Hughes in the 6th if you have too, Robertson/Soriano for the 7th/8th and Mo at the end. Freedy/Pettite for the 5th spot.

Joakim Soria out for season after TJS. 2nd time he's had it

    http://espn.go.com/mlb/spring2012/story/_/id/7728251/joakim-soria-kansas-city-royals-elbow-surgery-miss-2012

Sucks for the Royals. Aaron Crow probably the closer now, or Broxton.

Former 1st rounder Matt Bush arrested for DUI, and fleeing from the scene. To me, the worst 1st overall pick ever, especially since one Justin Verlander came right after him.

How much is Soria making? They throw money at them closers and never learn, them as well as relief pitchers really, are finicky, they come and go sort of like NFL Running Backs, you don't need to pay a premium for it. Madsen was the big guy who was gonna do it for the Reds and now what Probably the biggest thing i'm looking forward to this year is the first blown save by Papelbum for the Phillies, oh it's going to be great!

I knew Tim Lincecum was from the Seattle area. But I didn't realize that the high school he went to is about ten minutes from where I live.

I found this article on Matt Bush really good. Sad how far he has fallen, but no one to blame but himself. Imagine how things would be different if the Padres took and could keep Verlander, Drew or Weaver? And how different those franchises that took them would be?

Ha! We had our fantasy draft last night, and somehow Michael Cuddyer fell in my lap all the way down in the 17th round. That guy has to be the most underrated fantasy player ever. Seems like every league I play, every year, for whatever reason, Cuddyer is left hanging on the board undrafted. He even has 2B eligibility this year, and still he fell.

    Baseball season has started.

I don't understand how this MLB opening in Japan thing is at all a good idea. If they're gonna do that they could at least not put it in the middle of spring training, and pick a better team (I understand the Mariners, but the A's?) Then to top that off it goes into extra innings and doesn't see a minute of live TV in the US.
