When I asked if it could get any worse for the Red Sox...it might have today. Youk got an apology for Bobby V's comments, but they never should have been said.
Pedroia talking back, so is Youk's agent. Pretty dumb comments if you ask me. Then he goes out today and leaves Bard out too long. And got booed for it.

Bobby V clearly has no management skills. Your job is to get to know what it takes to motivate your players. He just doesn't seem to get that yet. I understand he's being honest and speaking his mind, but he should realise he walked into a clubhouse in 'disarray' and he should just get along for a while before he plants his flag.

[/QUOTE] I love him here. He's done some really smart things this year. I can't point to a lose and say "Farrell should have done ______". He's pinch hit and pinch ran in the right spots, moved people in the batting order depending on LH or RH, left his pitchers out as long as they can, used the bullpen like he promised he would, with assigned roles. I think he's already improved over last year. He didn't really do those things last year. It helps players like Lawrie and EE are playing like they are so he can put them anywhere, and that the bullpen was redesigned. I think Boston DOES regret it. In hockey the no BS coach who tells it like it is such as Darryl Sutter who can get a team going seems to work, esp. in a team that goes under the radar, but with the sense of entitlement in Boston and drama queen players it seems, no way! They're going to call for your firing in no time, even if the truth is the team just isn't that good. I'm sure plenty of teams have eaten/drank in the clubhouse, but nobody ever made a big deal about it, bunch of fake drama cause they need something to blame. Then there's Kenley Jansen who throws pure fire, one of the best relievers in baseball since coming up (and he converted from catcher just a few weeks before he did) blew a save the other day and people are jumping on the guy saying "he doesn't have what it takes to be a closer" "OMG another Broxton". Don't tell them Broxton was one of the best relievers in Dodgers history, this stuff is just hilarious. You aren't paying them big money and sometimes you just don't shut the door, it's just one variable on the team. Completely ignoring the other screw ups that could have won you the game, NTM the GM doing a crummy job of assembling the team. Let teams with overpriced closers whine about it. Go O's!
