Killer Freaks From Outer Space artwork
- May 9, 2012 11:05 pm GMT
The Wii U will be getting at least one exclusive third party game: Killer Freaks From Outer Space. Made by Ubisoft, the game is a light, satirical view on the alien invasion premise, where the player takes contorl of a survivor during an alien invasion by an enemy species called "Freaks". Developer Ubisoft Montpelier released a batch of concept art and artworks of the first person shooter, and it looks like a pretty interesting game, visually speaking. Killer Freaks From Outer Space was revealed at least year?s E3, and is expected to be a Wii U launch title this Fall. Head on after the break for the artwork!

I'm confused about this game. Is it a On Rails shooter? The Trailer made it look like it was. If this is a FPS then consider me sold especially because it HAS to be Motion Control Compatible. No way am I playing this with Dual Analogs.- Please wait. Quick reply will be available shortly.

I was very skeptic about on-rails shooters, until playing Sin & Punishment: Star Sucessor. Granted I think it only worked because the game was fast-paced and felt like a(well, it WAS) japanese hardcore shmup.
But... if the WiiU tablet serves as a map - meaning the game isn't entirely linear - it's safe to assume it isn't an on-rails shooter.

Nintendo wants to prove the value this of this controller and show what it brings to the table and I'm sure they asked the same of the third party. I like the alien invasion parody movies, Mars Attacks being one of my favorites, the boxing scene between Jim Brown and the alien is classic. Anyway, they deliver on the comedy aspect, poking fun at the typical alien invasion plot moments and characters common in games, I'll get on board.- Please wait. That concept art all looks like the pretty standard stuff for a contemporary FPS, though the sea monster looked interesting. Will keep an eye on this one.- Please wait. Quick reply will be available shortly.

I'm pretty sure this was confirmed as a dual analog game last E3. Though that might have changed since then.
No, I like On Rails Shooters. Panzer Dragoon, Ghost Squad, Time Crisis, Confidential Mission and Star Fox being some of my favorites so I know On Rails Shooters can be done great. Haven't played much S&P but from the looks of it, it does rock.
Its a FPS and I wouldn't count on too many games, especially early on using the Wiimote. It was eerie how the chick alien was floatwalking towards Pierce Brosnan. The Music killing thing was just funny. They tried everything EXCEPT music Lol- Please wait. Everyone says it a misunderstanding, invite them to see the world leaders and they do it again lol. If this game was to like take shots at things like Mass Effect, Crysis, Resistance etc. I would love it.- Please wait. Quick reply will be available shortly.
This will be the Red Steel of the Wii U. Mark my words.
Unlikely. One, I though Red Steel was fun. Second, Ubisoft has grown exponentially since 2006. Lastly, this game is probably just your standard FPS, it wont be as ambitious as Red Steel was suppose to be.- Please wait. Quick reply will be available shortly.

Ouch! I actually agree with you to a degree, but I still found that as a nasty blow. That actually makes Red Steel, which didn't turn out to be the game it could have been, look really good, though. Not exactly signing praises of Ubisoft's intentions, if that's really the case. :P
Personally speaking, the game didn't draw my interest to begin with, but now that I've seen the concept art, I can confirm my intentions to not look forward to the game at all. It's a bit refreshing to see a FPS that isn't Sci-Fi or war-related, but this isn't something I'm looking forward to playing in the slightest.

It's the truth, they wanted to try something with Red Steel, but they didn't have enough time or skill to bring it to fruition. Ubisoft was almost an entirely company then, compared to where they are now though. But you don't have to re-invent the wheel to make something compelling, especially if the idea is to be a parody.- Please wait. Quick reply will be available shortly.
