Why has directX stopped updating?. Can remember around directx 6 to directx 9 over the years they where updating it every month. Say directx6.a directx6.b etc. Then when directx9 came out it stopped for some time to directx10 then directx 10.1 came out and now there on directx 11.

NVIDIA has thier own DirectX 10.x version.
[/QUOTE] DirectX 10.1 is not exclusive of Nvidia. The article is saying that the GTX 200 series is capable of supporting some DirectX 10.1 features despite not being fully DirectX 10.1 hardware compliant like ATI's Radeon 4000 series of the day.
