    No, the content you buy is linked to your specific xbox, but it can be transferred. You can use any Xbox gamertag on any Xbox.

    Well, that's not entirely true. Some banned machines can't be used period.

    While I personally don't recommend buying used electronics, it is ok do to it if done right. If this is your only option, then make sure it's not locked. Have the person hook it up and connect to a live account on it infront of you. If they refuse to or make up any types of excuses, don't buy it. However if this isn't your only option and you're just being cheap about it. Then I say just keep saving and buy a new one.
