I'm probably going to get a tablet for my birthday soon and I plan on getting the Sony Tablet S. What tablet do you guys have and what do you use it for?

I'm going to use my tablet as a Kindle reader, games, and school work off of it.

I have an ipod touch which I consider to be my mini-tablet. I use it for reading, music, news, checking gas prices, a laptop mouse pad, flashlight, games, and the list goes on and on and on and oooooonnnnnn.

Hopefully I stay here in a ball of fire

I got the new iPad about three weeks ago and I bought the Samsung Galaxy 2 for my wife last week. Also, I got a Droid 4 and my wife has an iPhone 4S. They're pretty easy to use compared to my laptop and desktop; I'm using my iPad to type this right now.

I've had my Asus Eee Pad Transformer Prime for a couple months now and all I can say is I absolutely love it. I mostly use it for almost anything and everything and I don't play too many games on it at the moment. I did a lot, A LOT of research for a couple months and I narrowed it down to the Asus Transformer Prime and I am happy with it.

I read on my iPhone, which is about the same size. The font is easily readable. It's just a lot of pages.

Wasn't actually all that bad if you made the text somewhat big.

Wait a bit, new models of 7 & 10 inch tablets, including the Google Nexus models are coming in a month or two.

By the way, does anybody still use the Motorolla Xoom? I remember hearing about it as the ipad alternative back when the ipad was still in it's first iteration. Any users here who still think it was worth it?

I have an actual tablet, the HP Touchsmart tm2t, and its probably the best thing out there at the moment for school work.

Slates, which is what nearly everyone is referring too, are pretty cool. But since they are largely for media consumption, their best use is for doing more passive things that would normally be done on an actual laptop.

I've got an HP Touchpad that I occasionally run Cyanogenmod 9 on. I use it to read and do some light browsing mostly.

OP should buy a Google Nexus 7 by the way.
