I'd like to align everything to the center, but when I do that it tells me my HTML is not well formed. However I haven't used any HTML code. All I have is text and two image files. Is there any way to get around this? I've seen others with there signatures center aligned, so why can't I do it?.

First off, I think your sig looks great the way it is, thought you did a good job.

It looks great on left alignment.

The problem you're experiencing might be due to an unclosed HTML tag.

You can alternatively use HTML code to handle sigs, the HTML Guide is located here.

I still think your sig looks great the way it is though.

Aha, well thanks! Although I can't take all the credit, Gamespot user 'ultimate_kunai' designed the picture in the signature

I still can't help but get the feeling it'll look neater and more appealing if it was all centered...

I'll give that a try then. If that doesn't work i'll leave it aligned to the left if it doesn't look that bad.

I also recommend going straight to html for signatures, and I also agree that you could get by with your signature as is.

The guides are useful, but a key issue that comes up periodically with signatures and centering may not be covered in any of the guides. This is the fact that the area available for signatures in the wide forum layout is not as wide as the forum message area - the signature area is only 550 pixels wide, and it's set against the left side of the message area. This means there is always about 250 pixels on the right of the signature area that nothing can get to, and attempts to center within the signature area will always look a bit off to the left, about 125 pixels worth.

I'm not sure why the wide layout signature area is the way it is, but it wouldn't surprise me if it was a compromise that was made in view of the fact that the same signatures get used in the old narrow union layout. Signatures could have been a lot more interesting in the wide layout if they had just ditched the old narrow layout right away, or provided a mechanism for having separately formatted signatures. As it is, centering a signature in the wide layout isn't necessarily going to be quite what you might expect.
