actually is not even that, is the fact that every mcshea review is... odd

is not even close to what the rest of the sites and metacritic (yes i know its not a reliable source but still) score

once, i'd say well, he thinks different than the rest, but when it happens with most of his reviews, well it's just weird.

you're making pointless comparisons, the problem with those kind of comparisons is the way in which standards are changed when certain games are reviewed such as different standards for different genres, the way sequels are treated or even just different expectations for Kinect/Move based games, things like Forza 4/Zelda SS get scored lower than previous installments even if they're considered superior or at least as good as those previous games because they are expected to be of a certain quality and bring something new to the table, then new IPs or games which take a series in a new direction don't have that kind of handicap (or in some cases anything to be compared to) so score higher in comparison.

These standards also seem to be randomly enforced so you never really know what standards games are going to be held to. It essentially makes comparing the scores of games completely pointless (so essentially the whole metagame) unless they're from identical genres and released at similar times.

there are quite a few sites around that mark on the Metacritic actually. a game like this is going to polarize people, on rails, kinect etc. if you like fable art, music, humour, storys etc, it's probably already on to a winner with you. my own experience with the demo was that i needed to recalibrate my kinect sensor and couldn't be arsed.

he is paid to play games and write opinions on something, getting mad because he enjoys a game you didn't think deserves to score well whilst being mad because he didn't like a game that you did, means you are taking it all a bit too serious.

Dishonored is the only game this year where i have waited for a review before knowing if i was going to buy it or not. the rest of the time, they are just indicators of how good in quality a game is for me. if everyone agreed on everything, what a boring place the world would be.
