Please can someone confirm that you don't have to be online to play any of these Arcade / Indie games? My nephew is bringing his Xbox round to buy the games, but then he will want to be able to play them offline. I would be surprised if any of them do require you to be online, but I've heard that there are occasional games that do.

    Bastion
    Black Knight Sword
    Capsized
    Torchlight
    Insanely Twisted Shadow Planet
    Zeno Clash
    Minecraft

Also, does anyone know if it's possible to transfer game update data from one console to another with a USB stick? Obviously Minecraft gets updated quite often, which would be a disadvantage with a console that didn't have internet.

I believe you have to be online to play Indie titles... certainly the few I downloaded only worked when I was hooked up to the internet.

Ok, didn't know that. Although aren't they all Arcade titles? I don't know about Black Knight Sword and Capsized, because I can't find them, but I'm pretty sure the rest are Arcade.

As I understand it, as long as you have the liscence for the games you can play them offline.

I know about the thing where you can have a copy of a game on two consoles, one online and one offline:

    http://forums.xbox.com/xbox_forums/xbox_support/f/8/t/3692.aspx

but I wasn't sure if you needed to be online with both licences for Indie games. It would seem a bit stupid if that was the case, but who knows.

It isn't new, I know in the past I have not been able to play certain arcade games w/o internet because I had to transfer the liscences because I got a new console.

Live titles are fine... but I couldn't play Avatar Golf unless I was online and I only recently bothered to pick up a wireless adaptar.

you should be able to play any non online multiplayer mode of any arcade/indie game as long as you have the license ie your using the original console hard drive and profile you downloaded the items on if your using another console hard drive or profile you only get the trial version - and can not play the full version , until you get back online or transfer all the licenses from your old to your new xbox360

    xbox one
    one game per console
    one purpose tv
    one buyer your xbox fanboy
    price
    arm
    leg
    first born

I know you can have any content you download on two consoles, one of which has to be online (as per my link above). But generally speaking it seems like you can be offline for Arcade or Indie games, unless they specifically multiplayer games, and certainly if you don't do the two-console thing.
