Could anyone suggest me a great horror/dark fantasy/dark action adventure game for PC/PS3? (Coop is a plus)
I would prefer an original title (Not Resident Evil 6, or Dead Space 2, etc. unless it's something I may not have heard of or overlooked)
An example of a game I would be interested would be Amnesia (and I am considering Folklore for ps3 so if anyone could let me know how that is).
Also Demons/Dark Souls which I already have, so anything along those lines, Thanks!

"Siren: Blood Curse", "Alone in the Dark: Inferno", "Condemned II", "SAW II: Flesh & Blood"... All good PS3 titles, for PC you can't do better than "Amnesia".

Although I'd say the quality of Saw II and Alone in the Dark is debatable, you can't go wrong with Amnesia. It might look a little dated because it's an indy title that didn't have millions of development budget behind it, but wait until dark, turn the lights out and throw some headphones on and play that game. Once you get into it it's incredibly absorbing. Although they are a bit older at this point, the Penumbra series of games is by the same developers. Those aren't bad either, but Amnesia is the most recent/best title they've produced to date.

Unfortunately, for true horror games Amnesia is about the only thing that has come out in recent years. Home and Lone Survivor are two horror themed indy titles that are available on Steam. They are both interesting games, but they are both done in a retro 16-bit style so if that's a turn off for you then you probably won't enjoy them.

If you're willing to go back a few years then there are some pretty good titles you may not have played. Cthulhu: Dark Corners of the Earth is a pretty cool game based on (obviously) HP Lovecraft. Very immersive, good atmosphere, and the game also uses no HUD. Wanna know how many bullets you have in your revolver? Pop the cylinder and look. Damage taken in the game is based on what happened to you. Get cut and you need to use bandages and stichtes to stop the bleeding. Fall to far and you'll literally break a leg and move at reduced speed until you can apply a splint. Also, since it's HP Lovecraft sanity plays into the gameplay.

Neither of those are really "horror" games.

Silent Hill 2, Resident Evil 4, Dead Space, and if you want a more light tone horror game you might want to try... Dead Island and Dead Rising.

More of an action game with a horror setting. After the 80th time a monster jumps out of a vent it really has lost its impact.

Also, the op specifically asked for games other than Dead Space...

Yes, Allan Wake - has great story, looks good... And I also like the music in it
And Dead Island is fun. But in Allan Wake the atmosphere is more intense

They are desperate to understand how you think and shop and why you buy certain Games or Products because this helps their companies improve their productshttp://game-tester-jobs.org/
