Hey all, just joined the site because I desperately need a new game! Help!! I'd say I'm a casual gamer, but that doesn't mean I don't game hard when I find a game I love Ok, I'm probably not that casual. The thing is I have very specific tastes...

My favorites which I've now played to death:
-Oblivion--my number one, first true love. Love the freedom, the landscapes, the main plot.
-Dragon Age Origins--the character development and romances were just so well done, and it had a lot more freedom than DA2
-Dragon Age II--I absolutely loved how well done and important the characters/companions were. Stylistically it was great, but I wish there was more freedom and variety in the landscapes. I got very sick of going into the same caves.
-Skyrim--I love Bethesda, and Skyrim was so, so beautiful, but I did think the story wasn't as good as Oblivion's, and after playing the DA's, the companions were such a joke.

    I'm looking for...
    -RPG
    -*Good graphics
-First person or close third (I want to be able to see my character, essentially)
    -Character creation
    -*Female PC option
-*Hack and slash or strategy, but I definitely do prefer real-time. I like the hack and slash mechanic, but I don't like a game with too much grinding or repetitive dungeons.
-*Good story, or at least a good world.
-PC or playstation, though xbox is a possibility.
-I prefer fantasy high or low, or steampunk, but I could probably get behind sci-fi (I'm probably going to start Mass Effect sometime soon) or zombies/apocalyptic, as long as the graphics were good and it wasn't too grindy.
    (*=dealbreaker)

    My style:
-When I play I love to have a character I can inhabit. I like to be able to customize her, and be able to make the main character my own.
-I like to "shoot the sh*t" out of monsters, or go crazy with an ax, turn based games tend to be a bit slow moving for me, and I lose interest. I loved DAs' combination of real-time and strategy, though ultimately Skyrim is my favorite attacking mechanic model.
-I love to lose myself in a world or in an amazing story.

Games that didn't work for me:
-Kingdom hearts--too much grinding, I like to be able to explore without getting attacked every two seconds.
-Resonance of Fate--thought it was beautiful and the world/characters were great, but the walking around view was too impersonal and the combat was extremely hard to get into.
-Witcher II--I just can't get into a premade male character. If I can't design my own char, I want to play a female.

Thank you thank you thank you for your recommendations!!!

Kingdom of Amalur: Reckoning and Dragon Dogma will be your best bet imo.

    Honerable mentions:

Star Wars the old republic series (though it may be a bit dated for you. graphic-wise, and not the MMO.)

Fallout 3 and Fallout: New Vegas

    Two world series

Lost Oddysey on the 360. 4 discs of gameplay should hold you a long time. And do you like MMORPGS? Diablo 2&3 are good dungeon crawlers although may get repetitive. I heard dragons dogma is good. Evergrace LOL. Phantasy star universe. Fable 1 only. ummm...Neverwinter nights I heard was really good.

Maybe you should try to play Far Cry 3 or Assasins? I don't know whether it meets your requirements or not, but it has really interesting story and grat graphic. Check youtube's trailers. Far cry --> http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=UtuMFwRXNOQ assasins --> http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=yu2yEuoaUdA
