    Link here

Its HTC's attempt to regain the throne.

I have personally given HTC too many chances, it will take something superb from them to pull me away from LG's Optimus G.

Personally i believe the 5"screen is bordering the very large size. 4.7" is the screen size limit for me.

I hope they can take from samsung and apple's share a little with this, but i won't hold my breath. Their OS overlay is stale and their designers are getting lazy.

And what is wrong with htc phones? Sense has some great features, and without them android would not be what it is today. I could not live without music controls on my lock screen or shortcut to camera app and the message preview is awesome. Their launcher is a big average but the rest of sense is awesome. HTC can actually build nicely built phones unlike Samsung which is just plastic junk. Take a Samsung phone and put in a crappy processor and it is nothing, that is the only thing that makes the s3 awesome is the stuff inside one of the worse cases of any new phone. Samsung has become like Apple people see them as a fashion statement. The One X is still one of the best phones out there. Besides the S line of phones Samsungs phones are junk, cheap tiny slow things you'd never want to use. You might not want a big phone but there is a huge market developing for it.

Terrible battery life - Laggy performance - Poor multi-tasking - S-ON feature is really annoying for power users - Poor update record even on flagship phones - Lack of SD card and removable battery on newer phones alienated customers

And yet the S3 is so much more ergonomic than the one X which is very hard to use with one hand, S3 is surprisingly easy to use with one hand. Samsung has one of the best hardware/software integration of any company, their software optimization is among the best.

Who was talking about cheap samsung phones? And even if you wanna talk about them whats wrong with them compared to cheap HTC phones? The HTC one V wont be getting any update at all just what samsung did with a few phones last year.

Read that the screen is horribly dim and the colors are way inaccurate. Also said that it doesn't appear to be that much sharper to the naked eye. Sad to hear because this would have been my next phone.

On a side note, Android 4.2 update has fixed all of my issues so now my phone really is smooth as butter. I can probably last until next years nexus phone. Hope it's not a let down like this year's.

Talking about updates how come many months later few s3s are actually running jellybean? the s2 updates was a disaster, besides slightly better battery life and maybe sd card slots samsung is no better just better at marketing and terrible at making a premium feeling device. If your worried about sd card slots I suggest you never touch a nexus ever again. Sense doesn't lag for me, how exactly is multitasking poor? Android has poor multitasking anyway and who wants lots of apps running in the background to eat up your battery anyway? If Samsung is so great why does the ace 2 ship with gingerbread? There is nothing special about touchwise and stock android is better in most ways. The S3 is a great phone but it is far from the only good option.

Most people running sim-free version of the S3 have gotten the update, my friend got it 2 weeks back they have improved the situation quite alot compared to the S2 ICS update. S2 going to get 4.1.2 shortly what about sensation? Oh ya there is no comparison between samsung and HTC here. Why MUST you keep bringing in low end samsung phones? Nobody talked about them and nobody recommended them. What samsung does with its low end phones has no bearing on its high end phones.

Sense doesnt lag for you fine but it does for others. Maybe your standards of lag are different. You dont know about the poor multi-tasking?

    http://www.gottabemobile.com/2012/05/17/power-users-upset-over-htc-sense-4-0s-aggressive-multitasking-management/

And no android multi-tasking is not poor if there is enough ram. You need programs to not close when quickly switching back and forth between different things. Even my nexus S with paltry amount of ram can provide a decent multi-tasking experience. You can close programs quite easily in ICS with the new multitask button so thats not an issue. Well before the one series HTC phones had poor screens, big heavy designs and so so cameras so that plays a part in bringing HTC's goodwill down. The HTC one X got it wrong in 4 areas as far as I see.

    1. Poor quality control

    2. Battery life

    3. Sense 4.0

    4. Power button at the top making it a very difficult to use phone with one hand. Dont know why HTC continues to do this when every single big phone maker has shifted to place the power button on the side.

Now ofcourse thats my reasons for not recommending it and the real reason for commercial failure is most certainly poor marketing. You also have to realise that by not giving SD card and removable battery HTC alienated many of its customers. Why do you think samsung continues to use that home button on the S3? Because its afraid people might not like the change as all its customers are used to physical home buttons.

Now just because I feel SD card is an advantage does not mean that not having it is a deal breaker, I was merely pointing out all the possible reasons for poor sales of HTC phones recently. And no I dont agree that stock android is better in every way than touchwiz. Both have their pros and cons but there is no question that touchwiz is the most feature rich skin on android. You have to install many apps on stock android to get the same functionality that is built in touchwiz. I personally have no issue installing these apps but for noobs its so much better than the phone has everything built-in. I have very extensively used the S3 and even though I still think the system icons are ugly but the functionality of the skin is far greater than even sense let alone stock android. Its the touchwiz "launcher" which is questionable and you can change it without losing most of the extra features.

Meh i had the HTC one x and xl. i can certainly say, HTC have gone down hill.
I would go the motorola RAZR M which my father has in a heartbeat over the One line.
Motorola are really doing well with their razr line.
