Alright so I have a difficult time finding others with this issue, specifically others who had it resolved or happen the way it happened to me. I was able to play The Witcher 2 before, but after being forced to reinstall all my games on Steam I can't get it to start. I click Play, then tell it to run the install or whatever, then an error message pops up regarding compatibility with Windows 7 64 bit and that I should contact my software provider.

It's pretty frustrating since I just want to finish where I left off, right when it was getting damn interesting.

Try Running steam and TW2 as administrator, there are also known problems with avast, so if you use avast disable the scanning before you start the game.

Ok nevermind, on a whim I just clicked properties and tried the "verify cache" thing on Steam. That fixed things up.

I've had a lot of weird issues getting my games to work again, all different, and it's times like these I wonder if PC gaming is worth the hassle, though I mostly blame Steam for deleting all my games for no damn reason.

90% of the time this has fixed my steam game issues. Always worth trying first as it's usually corrupted files or missing files, stuff like that.

PC gaming can be a hassle at times like this, but there is always a fix. And I personally think the good far outweigh the bad when it comes to PC gaming.
