The Twist of Devil may Cry 2013

now there has been lots of controversie over this game about it not being DMC Not staying with the stories, not staying with how Dante acted And also people saying this game is a Not good "Reboot". Why did i put that in quotes? Because this game is actually NOT A REBOOT
Turns out i did some research and found out this game is actually a alternate reality of the DMC Universe so now u guys know why its not the same so plz just plz stop with the THIS IS NOT A GOOD REBOOT stuff plz?

The 'alt universe' excuse was just a way for them to try to comb over the rage that they more or less incurred after trying to push the whole Reboot s***. In fact, it was actually Capcom themselves that stated the alternate universe angle, I suppose it was a means to give just enough breathing room if NT botch the hell outta of this to the point that Capcom could make it easy to wash their hands of it. TL;DR......the 'alt universe' excuse is just a sugar-coated way of saying 'damage control'.
You're aware Ninja Theory just came up with the Alternate Reality Crap AFTER many fans had been upset about that Dante looks like a Gay Emo now? The fact that they're simply calling it "Devil May Cry" is evidence enough that it's a reboot. Just about every other reboot ever does the same thing. (The 2010 Medal of Honor game was called "Medal of Honor;" the new Tomb Raider is called "Tomb Raider;" even the Bionic Commando reboot was called "Bionic Commando.") Using the ol' "it's just an alternate universe!" excuse doesn't change that it is still a reboot.

Usually: Alternate universe = reboot... even in the ones where they discuss the aforementioned alternate universe. Example, the newest Star Trek movie was a reboot, they still discussed the other reality.
DmC is a reboot, and that's really the end of this discussion.

Bionic Commando was a direct sequel to the original games.

The original design for Dante was hardly some bastion of masculinity.
Actually, the new Dante looks very much like the old but is younger, skinnier and lacks the white hair.
He is basically a kid finding out who he is so I'm not really understanding the EMO complaints, especially given how borderline effeminate the original Dante was in the previous games.

Meh, don't take every word I write for carved in stone. The point is that his new look in my opinion just doesn't fit him at all, especially because it has NOTHING unique about it anymore and is totally unoriginal. But he still looks like Dante; he's just a younger version.
And could you list of a few of these other franchises and games with a similar-looking protagonist because I can't personally think of a single one.
