Private property as a right inevitably turns into authoritarian control over land. Privatization is statist, de jure private property titles are a result of statism. Those who oppose the state but support existing property norms are at best inconsistent and ignorant. I agree with the topic title, though. Having a calm discussion with a "liberal" about their beliefs is almost impossible. They get really riled up and start being hostile and dismissive. I'm just from very liberal part of the country (arguably the most liberal), so I'm used to talking to them. If I grew up in a conservative town believing what I do, my opinion would likely be inverted. Having an argument or debate with anyone who identifies themself as having one broad stance is impossible. No one should identify themselves as solely liberal or conservative. You might be able to say that you lean towards one side, but saying that you are one or the other is stupid. You can't agree with every conservative ideal or every liberal ideal, especially since the definitions of "conservative" and "liberal" are so loosely defined, and depend on the country in which you're a part of.
