Sony teases "the future" of Playstation - countdown to 2/20/13

In what looks like some sort of PS4 announcement, Sony has started an official countdown to February 20, 2013 at 6 PM EST.
Looks like things could get VERY interesting, and much sooner than I think any of us expected, if this reveal is indeed the PS4. *crosses fingers*

I am officially hyped. I wonder what they will show with it. Sony's studios have been working on a lot of unannounced stuff. You can really feel that a new generation is starting to ramp up. Even just here in the PGD. Sh*t is starting to get heated again. Those old arguments about which company is doing it better are flaring up. Nothing beats the anticipation of new hardware for me. Not me. They had to reveal it before GDC in March so devs could openly talk about their games. They couldn't reveal it at GDC because MS would do the same and they will both have to share the spotlight. Now, they both can reveal their next console on their own time.

Honestly though I kind of thought maybe sometime around late March, but I had no idea we'd possibly see anything in the middle of February. Goddamn I'm so hyped, these next 20 days are going to drive me crazy with anticipation.

Interesting. That looks very similar to the PS2's design. Hard to tell obviously, but it'd be cool to see a sleek black rectangle instead of a bloated George Forman grill.

Please don't mess this up, Sony. All you have to do is lead and the industry will follow you. Make the case for conventional gaming by forming a rebuttal to all the extraneous horseshlt present today. Focus on games -- that's what got you here, and that's what will safely carry the market forward.

[/QUOTE] For sure. They've made some missteps, but when they focus their efforts and attention on games, they do amazing stuff. Honestly the only thing I've got reservations about is the controller. If they want to add functionality to it, fine, but I want to recognize it as Dualshock when I see it for the first time. Price wise, I think it'll be fine. Not counting The Last Guardian, The Last of Us, Beyond, Pupeteer and all those other new IPs Sony showed at TGS? ;p All are coming out this year. (With the exception of The Last Guardian of course. That's never coming out.
P.S It just hit me. We might just see The Last Guardian in 20 days. With PS4 quality graphics no less. Someone hold me.
