I Regrettably traded my 3DS in but, at the time I found pretty much any game I played looked ALOT better on the XL. The screen size makes a world of difference.

I saw it on display at gamespot the big pixels made it look awful either that or its just because the game isn't optimized for the large screen

Perhaps you should go back to GameStop (or was it really GameSpot ?) and ask to compare the two. Since moving to the 3DS XL, I haven't come across any games that look horrible in comparison - that includes NSMB2.

    Looks great!

You wont notice a thing if unless you put hours upon hours on an original 3DS! I had one of those from launch up until I got my XL, took a couple days to get over the small difference in visuals in a couple games. Overall the bigger screens are def better.

yes I have actually and after seeing MSMB2 on it in store I was worried becaused I'd been pondering getting an XL one day, the game did not sharp on screen. Then again its probably not the most high end game on 3DS. I"m not even sure Nintendo pushes their consoles hard

That's what happens when you stretch the screen without upping the resolution. Nothing looks sharp anymore. It blurs the image. From what I have seen it isn't all that bad but it is noticeable for me. As much as I'd love a bigger screen, having the same resolution just kills it for me. I'll be keeping my original 3DS.

i just started playing kid icarus uprising on the XL, and the game looks absolutely stunning on the larger screen.

do yourself a favor and pick the XL.

I have noticed very little difference, but I would much rather have the original 3ds. I'm not a big fan of the larger size, it's less portable.

My xl still fits in my pants and jacket pockets so...whatever? No fingerprints is a plus as well as the little extra battery life. Also, the buttons are nicer to click on.

I just like it smaller, i am very aware of the pros to owning an xl.
