My PC: Asus Sabertooth X79 | Intel Core i7 3820 w/ H100i | ATI Radeon HD 7950 3GB | 64GB DDR3-1600 Kingstone HyperX | Corsair AX1200i | Corsair 600T White | Logitech G400 Gaming-Grade Optical Mouse.
I just wanted to play those 2 games but upon launching them nothing happens, I mean, in the task manager you can see the process running but there's no way to play the game since there's no window to select.... alt+tab doesn't work either.
So my question is.... Is there a way to play those 2 old games on Windows 8?
Thanks.

open steam and leave it open dont click on any of the maxpaynes on your steam library for some reason it works if i leave steam open, just leave it running in the background Next go your steam folder, steamapps, common, max payne 2,right click on max payne 2.exe and click properties.click on compatibilty and set to windows 98/windows me and set apply. Now run the maxpayne2.exe from this folder as it wont work if you create a shortcut to your desktop or within the steam library itself. Next once the max payne config panel is running set your graphics level to what ever you want as long as you turn antialiasing off as it wont work with it on Hope this have solved problems- Please wait. Didn't work... same thing happened, the process runs but it wont show any window. Steam on the other hand recognizes the game as running. :/

I have the same problem on Win7 with retail versions. I fixed it by installing the game from the setup.exe file in the disc itself. Perhaps you can do something similar with your Steam version? Is there a similar exe file in your directory?

[/QUOTE] I don't think so, I'll just redownload the game and try again. Thanks.

- Apr 23, 2013 8:14 pm GMTIts because of the video driver. You use anything before 12.10 for AMD and the games run, but you risk incompatibilities with flash, etc. Why not install VMware and run it through the virtual machine? I tried it these days and it works perfectly with winXP as a guest.
