Things have been awfully quiet with MGR:R lately. Tight embargoes make me nervous as most of the time it means good but not great for the game. I just want to hear about how long the campaign takes to complete. If it's 8+ hours then it's a buy for me. If it's 5 hours then probably not as there are too many other good games with more content to spend money on this spring. I haven't pre-ordered yet and a tight embargo makes having knowledge of the final product hard to get before I can no longer pre-order.

What's a Metal Gear fan on a budget to do?!!

    The embargo lifts on 19th.

I have a friend who reviews for a gaming site, and he's been saying it's ridiculously good.

The 5 hour gameplay time does not include:
    - the failed attempt at trying to reach a checkpoint (it's quite easy to die even on normal)
    - cutscenes (there are many)

The game is also set to have lots of collectibles and sh*t ton of replay value. Vanquish was hammered by some people for having shot gameplay time, but it still was one of the best TPS of this gen, and there were lots of reason to replay, including the fact the game is just so goddamn good. I'd take this game or Vanquish over Skyrim which I feel has tons of contents that seems to make me fall asleep faster than my psychology text book.

Im the type of gamer that takes my time and searches every part of a level so im hoping this will make it longer.

Heck people said Dishonored was short. But I swear I probably spent almost 20 hours with that game.

Game can be beaten in under 6 hours and cost $60....I was considering before the screenshot hit web, but I will wait until it hits the bargain bin now because I don't generally replay games. I have too many games in my backlog and new games that I will be buying to keep playing one repeatedly to get value out if. About 12 hour is the mininum for me for Day One and even they it better have multiplayer or something to extend the playtime.

Dont't buy unless you like spending $60 on a game than can be beaten in one sitting!

MGR doesn't offer that level of variety and exploration; it's an action game, not an action-adventure game.

Still, the action seems beyond solid, and you believe it or not, you can actually use stealth a lot in this game. Demo can be beaten entirely without alerting anyone untill the boss.

I like quality over quantity, I will still appreciate short game if it's good, and will absolutely hate a long game if it's bad. In that sense, I think this game will be a great addition to my library, I hope I was in position to buy it on day 1.
