Ok, I am completely new to gaming... I'm OLD... (well, ok, not THAT old... but older...) and believe it or not, I've never had a real gaming system... SOOOOO I'm hoping you'll help steer me in the right direction. I just bought a big tv... and I have always wanted a first person shooter with a really good light gun (are they even still called light guns anymore??) I used to love arcade games with light guns, and I would love to do the same thing at home. The thing is, I want the most realistic and accurate system available (I shoot real guns as a hobby too, so accuracy is important...) I don't care if I'm shooting zombies or terrorists or whatever... I just want it to be as realistic as possible from a shooting perspective. So... first... what game system do you recommend... what gun controller... and what games are good?

    Thanks!

Thanks for the suggestions... What game system do they run on, or if several, which do you consider the best? Also, do you use a light gun, and if so, which one? Thanks.

Does gaming system matter, and do you use a light gun?

If you want to go the direction of old school arcade games I would have to say go with a PS3 and get a move with a sharpshooter controller.. from there you could get Resistance 3 or Killzone 3 as well.. I think Bioshock Infinite supports the move... Those would be good picks.. You could get the zapper controller with the wii if you want to play Call of Duty games with the gun and movement controls specifically.. but for shooters I see see the PS3 and Move as your best option.

I think they also have a Time Crisis game that plays like the arcade ones .. so you can feel right at home.. Although I don't think it did very well..
