Platform: N64
Publisher: Konami
Developer: Konami

The Basics

Konami's Survivor: Day One was to be a third-person action game much along the lines of Tomb Raider, but in space. As the game's main character, you found yourself waking from a cryonic sleep on a spaceship sent to colonize a new planet.

Unfortunately, the ship you were peacefully resting on was sinking into the ocean on the planet you were supposed to colonize. To make matters worse, your female partner was somewhere on the ship, and you had to find her. Of course, that was easier said than done, since other creatures were also awakened, and they were none too pleased with their current situation.

WHAT HAPPENED?
In December of 1998, GameSpot News confirmed with Konami of America that the title had been canceled. Sources told GameSpot News that reasons for the cancellation stemmed from Konami not being happy with the product, but the company had no official statement to make regarding the cancellation.

Sources also told GameSpot News that the team working on the product had been let go - a statement Konami denied at the time, saying that those previously working on Survivor had been placed on other projects.
