Rebel Moon Rising
Platform: PlayStation
Publisher: GT Interactive
Developer: Fenris Wolf
The Basics
Rebel Moon Rising was to be a first-person futuristic shooter for the PC and PlayStation. However, the PlayStation version was canceled after the PC version failed to do very well, largely due to the fact that if you didn't have MMX, you were out of luck. That's right, the game actually required the high-end processor to work at all on the PC.
WHAT HAPPENED?
In June 1997, GT Interactive officials informed GS News that it had officially canceled the PlayStation version of the first-person shooter Rebel Moon Rising. It's likely the decision was reached because of the poor reception the PC version (which was MMX only) garnered.
Fenris Wolf's Theo Beale told GameSpot News that his work in progress, Rebel Moon Revolution, lost the support of GT Interactive. Beale said he'd already been talking to other publishers about the first-person shooter.
