You all need to do some research about DBNO and this game in general.

With the way DBNO works on OverRun is that you need a medic to throw the stim grenade at you. If you don't have a medic currently in-play, then it probably turns into what Beast did when you don't have a Kantus and you go down (you just die).
Not sure about how DBNO differs in campaign (if it differs at all), but this new form of DBNO might be the game's default. If that's the case, then it would take some scripts to add in the old functionality of running up to someone and pressing X. But since they didn't see in the foreseeable future that they would want this back, they didn't include it in the game, which would require the patch.
Kinda stupid on their part, since they could've had "Classic Weekends" or something, or maybe they just didn't have time.

This feels warm. What is this feeling? Is it of warmth?

It shouldn't be this complicated to get a simple answer about DBNO.

It's not complicated at all. I was indenial like TC too, but with a little research I was able to get to the truth. If you do a google search, you WILL get the wrong answers. In December it was confirmed that DBNO was still competitive multiplayer, except for FFA which makes perfect sense. They also said they haven't announced the other multiplayer modes.
Well I'm sorry to say this, but things change. Head on over to the Gears of War: Judgment forums and listen to Epic's podcasts or just read the forums. You'll see that DBNO was taking out of everything except for Campaign, Overrun, and survival. They also announced all the game types and weapons. Here's a link to the forums:
