Geometry wars retro evolved was, and is to this day one of the premier titles on the Xbox 360's download service, Xbox live arcade. and with good reason, the dual stick shooter defined addictive with its simple controls, simpler consept and leaderboard races across friends. however, as good as it was...with its incredibly simple grafics and only 2 similer gameplay modes, the game left many players with a "this is awsome...for a tech demo..." feeling.

Geo wars 2 improves on the game in almost every way possible, grafics are supercharged while not straying that far from the originals design, and the gameplay is much more varied with 5 all new play modes and 12 new achevements. in detail you say? read on...

Single player: 10/10

the Single player is one of the most addictive experiances on the Xbox 360, again with a simple to learn and tough to master astroids-esque style gameplay. each and every mode offers a different experiance and rules to keep you coming back. you could be running through gates like mad to destroy persuers with a weponless vessle one minute and blasting like mad as your surounded with enemy formations the very next.

Multiplayer: ??/??

Sadly i have not been able to get into the multiplayer aspect of the game, all i can tell you is no online play...witch is sort of why i can't rewiew this segment...

Grafics: 9/10

the grafics have been supercharged from the original, however it does have a bit more of a cyber motif than a deep space feel, sort of changing the art style a bit, not enough to realy get in the way though

Controls: 10/10

Simple enough already, but also customisable, epic winnage.

The verdict

9.5/10.

This is a must have game if you have an online connection to your xbox, the lack of a live multiplayer does kind of keep it from the prime score, but an exelent addition none the less.
