- "Highly addictive"
God of War 1 + 2 are definitely two of the best games ever. I loved them on the PS2 and I really enjoyed playing them in HD now.
The games are still the same, except the in-game resolution was changed to HD, they enabled Anti Aliasing which gives the game some smoother edges and it's running on steady 60 fps (frames per second) now. Some of the rendered movies are in HD now too and they really look great. Unfortunately the more insignificant movies were left as they were and on a 42" LCD they looked a little choppy...
I rented this game since I live in Germany. The game costs 60€ in Europe, which is, compared to the 40$, too much to pay for 2 games which I already own on my PS2. And the higher resolution and the trophies are not reason enough for me to spend the same money i could spend on a new game. The PS2 Versions cost 20€ both and the game is still the same. If there was some really valuable addition to it (except there are some making-of movies you can watch outside the game) I would have bought it and that's why I can't give it a 9 or higher.
If you don't have these games it's definitely worth buying. Especially if you plan to buy GoW3 you don't want to miss these games, because the story is awesome and the game is highly addictive!
