Game Play: One word: FUN! Hacking enemies, riding atop beasts, charging across bottomless pits, casting powerful magic…what more could you possibly want?
Graphics: Pretty good. Backgrounds are evocative of the game’s setting, the look of the game gives the player a good feel for the fantasy world that it aims to create. Characters clothing is left without much detail, but come on: it is an early Genesis game!
Sound: Music fits the game perfectly: it speeds up during tense moments and warns of what is to come as a boss/sub-boss strides into your field of vision.
Value: Two player madness. I cannot accurately recall how much time I spent playing this game with friends, its just that much fun. I loved forming my brute strength/magic team with Gilius Thunder-Head and Tyris Flare. The difficulty levels are enough to challenge beginners, but not too much to drive them away frustrated. Later levels offer enough challenge even for experienced gamers.
Reviewer’s Tilt: I grew up playing games like this and I’m definitely an old-school aficionado. This is it folks: the golden age of the 16 bit era.
Purchase/Pass: Purchase. Without a shadow of a doubt.

One of my childhood favourites! It's easy, but it's fun.

First few levels of Golden Axe: The Revenge of the Death Adder. My sound card does not support direct audio recording so that is why there are no sound effects. I also had to put in my own music.Posted Dec 15, 2007
