Nostalgia at it's very best. When the title screen came up, and the music came on... BAMM ! I was instantly teleported to an arcade in the 1980s. They have done a great job of bringing back an arcade classic to a modern system. The game itself ( just as it was when it came out ) is a break through for 16 bit games. The graphic artists and designers of that time had brought a 3D feel to a two dimensional era. Plus the fact that a COOL medieval fantasy game was pretty much non-existent at that time. The Wii controls are sometime awkward though. Trying to hit both the 1 and 2 buttons simultaneously to deliver a back roll attack is a bit of a challenge. As is the charge attack. Had the Wii controller's directional pad been a joystick, and the 1 and 2 buttons be placed a bit closer together maybe it would be easier. The best feature is the 2 player game option allowing cooperative battling side by side. It's just a great feeling that you can experience the RPG games that were the corner stones of the fantasy gaming world of today, especially for the young ones whom never had that chance.

One of my childhood favourites! It's easy, but it's fun.

First few levels of Golden Axe: The Revenge of the Death Adder. My sound card does not support direct audio recording so that is why there are no sound effects. I also had to put in my own music.Posted Dec 15, 2007
