GoldenEye 007: Reloaded Video Review

Not particularly a good bond game. i enjoy fps but this one just felt generic if u can find it for a 10  dollar price point by all means pick it up but i feel like this was a step in the wrong direction for the bond series

It's weird watching this knowing that Tom doesn't like Call of Duty but he's praising parts of this game that are straight out of COD, like the snappy controls and door breach segments. Though I know Tom doesn't like COD because of its setting and glorification of war.

I have completed Wii version of the game so i doubt i will buy this one, anyway it's a great James Bond game, if you are up to playing descent FPS game, get this one!!

I'm downloading it now from psn  19 bucks I don't think you can go wrong here,and I have never played a bad bond game,cant wait!!

so this game technicaly got an 8.0 just because it didn't have a time trial mode? Really?

I wish 007 was in 3rd person ! I liked Blood Stone and Quntum of Solace

 but  none of the others ...

Bought it yesterday, played for an hour and put it down for several reasons: although I like that they didn't try to copy the original verbatim there was something missing from it and that might be as simple as changing who played bond and 006. Plus it felt dumbed down with the auto-target button and the objective icon constantly showing you where to go. The graphics seemed dated even compared to older games like Uncharted 1 (although not an FPS).  Maybe this game wasn't meant to be redone. I loved my multiplayer marathons back in the day and will just keep it at that. I'm trading this in for something else.

Bought it today for the PS3; looking forward to it.

GoldenEye was awesome, it really was, my all time favorite fps. I find myself still playing this 64 gem, but my only complaint I have for this remake is that they are using Daniel Craig instead of Pierce Brosnan. Other than that, I am so looking forward to playing this reformat of a classic!!!

nostalgia on the xbox 360 : ) what i like you get 4 player splitscreen which there isnt enough of that we need more splitscreen co-op action in games not just online

They used the wrong bond. Pathetic.

dj_tiesto_9000 lol battlefield is nothing compared to goldeneye.. this is james bond for christ sake! i will give this 9 out of 10.

@ TommyT456 - I think you're right, I played the demo and I right away noticed several similarities in the level structure between this and the first level of the original. Plus there is the optional objectives added in to do more stuff and explore the levels thouroughly. So I figure that what the review says is right about how they create new experiences out of the same great formula. Overall, extrapolating from the demo, this game looks completely awesome and I'm definitely picking this up soon!

All I ever wanted was the original with an online multiplayer feature. The original IS NOT BROKEN! Why try to fix something that's not broken?

Graphics look like COD, the game itself feels like COD, the movement feels like you're walking through a pool of molasses, and they used Daniel-fricken-Craig instead of Brosnan. If you don't mind those 4 things, it's a great buy.

The game is great for those hardcore bond fans but i don't feel like it brings enough to the table to attract new players... i mean the graphics where OK but not great and i use the word ok very loosely and the game play was solid... yet when playing it i felt like i was just playing another Bond game that i had played before... now that is both good and bad .. very good for those loving the style of play but rather boring for new players if u ask me.. i felt the environments where all something I had seen or played in before.. On-line play is a plus and very fun... all in all i was more disappointed with the game than most people, but in part because i grew tired of the old Bond games on the ps2 platform.. i have to many friends who play them .... but definitely worth the cash if u love good old James Bond and are looking for fun on-line play ..

@DamageIncM I'm afraid I think the campaign on this game is an all new one different from the original N64 game. I'm not 100% on that so maybe someone can clarify but as far as I am aware its basically a new game based loosely on the style and gameplay of the N64 title. Anyone like to let me know if I am right or way off on that one..? :P

The 64 version is one of my all time faves!

@w1ggyj - I saw another review elsewhere that says it does have offline 4 player split-screen like Nightfire. If true, I'll buy it for that feature alone.

I haven't played a good FPS Bond game since probably Nightfire. I hope this will turn it around.

I thought this game was kinda mediocre. Not terrible, but pretty damn average. If it didn't have James Bond. it would have been a super generic game. 5/10 to me.

It looks like COD because is uses the Infinity Ward modified ID Software engine, COD is basically Quake.

I never had an N64, even though I always wanted one back then. And I did play a ROM-version on the PC like 10+ years ago. But I never really went all the way through it. So now is the chance I guess. Also, even though GoldenEye wasn't a bad movie, imagine it with Daniel Craig and the rest of the production today. :O Wouldn't be the same though... but still awesome in a different way...

They got rid of Time Trials? How could they? Did they really have to remove such a key feature from the Wii version? If anything, I'd much rather have that than Mi6 Ops. That's incredibly disappointing. Now I'm a little less sure if I want to get this...

Anyone else find the ad for darkness 2 more hilarious than scary?! :) i remember first playin the original on the N64 round my friends house, it was one of the games that made me fall in love with gaming. will definately get this. looks solid.

Shame there is not a 4 player split screen; that was ace. This looks quite good though. FPS = Fun Person Shooter.. ;-)

@tushwacker so I take it you didnt notice the likes of battlefield 3 and crysis 2? Pc doesnt get left out of big shooters

I had my doubts that this would look good but im happy to admit i was wrong, this looks really good. Goldeneye on the N64 in my opinion was the greatest fps of all time and i think ill pick this one up along with Skyrim.
