Gran Turismo PSP is an impressive game but not great.

Easy

10 to 20 Hours
The Bottom Line:
"Surprisingly good"
When I first heard that there was gonna be a GT game for PSP I was excited about its career mode and all the hours of not doing homework to play this game. When I got the game I was shocked. This game is missing a career mode and instead shovved in your face is a single player mode. I am actually impressed about the detail and really showes how the PSP hardware can go with these types of games.

Gameplay: Single player has no career mode but you can make your own fun here. There is drifting with sort-of physics from Gran Turismo 5 prolouge but still fun. There is still the same physics even when you do a race. Letdowns are that there is an interior mode but unfortunatly the dashboard is blacked out. Also there is only 4 racers on the track and they are worse than GT4's AI. They stick on the racing line like glue and hit you when you brake too early.

Cars And Garage: Obviously there is lots of choice of cars but the problem is getting them. There is only 4 manufaturers per 2 days and cars get shuffeled in them aswell. But there is a total letdown because after around 80 days they will go back to the start ( so if Bugatti had their car availiable on day 70, and there was 3 other manufaturers, it will be availiable again and the same will happen.) i guess they've done that because you can earn soo much money in this game. There is no engine wear or mileage and basically the car lots should be called "unlock cars for arcade mode".

Graphics and sound: The graphics in this game are the best i've seen in any PSP racing game. They are rounded and look good.
The sound however is a different story. Car sounds sound really low quality probably because the PSP might struggle to power the graphics and sound. (HD+HQsound=lower framerate). The crash sounds are lame aswell. If yo hit something hard there will only be a little bump noise.

Online: There isnt really an online but ther is a wireless communications system. You can race with 4 of your buddies or trade cars. Racing is great but can start to get laggy at times.

Verdict:

Gran Turismo PSP is a good PSP racer with great graphics.
the physics are the ones we know but the career mode isn't meaty. They could of got Gran Turismo 3 as an interface and GT4 as the career. 8.5/10

Career: D+

Cars and detail:B

Physics: A

Overall: C

Doing a flamboyant and stylish lap around the Toscana circuit, using a Peugeot 206 Rally Car. As always all driving aids are turned off except for ABS which is set to 1. Using a Logitech Force GT steering wheel which is on simulation settings.

This is MY opinion of which games are great this is not a fact-sheet :-) Im also well aware that some of the games on my list have seen sequels released but remember sometimes the first game was the most unique.
