Grand Theft Auto IV: The Ballad of Gay Tony User Review
- Difficulty:
- Just Right
- Time Spent:
- 10 to 20 Hours
- The Bottom Line:
- "Overrated"
In this DLC, you will play as a guy that does some missions for some friends to get some money. Look really interesting huh? In fact, you will try to help your buddies because they are not able to do the job by themselves.
Some missions are really hard and some are really easy. In some, you will have some friends "helping" you, but in fact, you will have to kill all of the enemies by yourself, because the AI is really not impressive. At the end of each mission, you will get a rating all depending on the time that you took, the number of head shots that you did, the number of car that exploded, etc... You can replay the missions later if you want to increase your ratings. There will not be any reasons to do it other than 360 achievements though.
The fighting is not so bad, but what I really cannot understand in that game is the driving controls. As part of a Rockstar's game, the driving is painfull. The cars lean left and right without turning, you can do a backflip by going backward few feet, etc.... It is simply horrible. I really can't understand why a game with these controls can earn a +9/10.
There are also some collision issues. You can throw down an entire phone booth, but some signs will throw you out of your car. There was also one mission where I fell of the inside of a building because I was close to the wall.
This game will last for a while if you do all missions and side-missions. Plan a good 15 hours and more. Multiplayer gets really repetitive, don't plan to be excited too much by it.
If you loved the original game, do not hesitate and buy this DLC. However, if you were looking for a better driving system, forget it. GTA driving is not even considered as an arcade racing system to me.

Good DLC, but not as much as the critics say.
