This is too much game, to make the spring 2013 release window. I'm guessing October 29th, to be exact. Any takers?? Post either yes, with a later date from spring 2013 or no,definitely spring 2013.

If it is postponed to the 29th of oct 2013, i feel they should just wait for the new consoles apparently coming out for xmas 2013. Playing this game on an ancient console like the 360 will hurt the experience for me. Honestly we have pushed this machine to its limits.
Anyway, my guess is itll be released around the time our 360s start collecting dust, and before a new console is out, which slightly worries me.

In the very least I'm expecting more then one disc for the 360 version. I doubt they will put it on the next one. though I am expecting this to be my xbox's last hurrah! had this machine for ever, it never broke like so many, will be sad to retire it..infact I never will. I still play my N64 at least once a week.

Yeah a few discs seems necessary for the 360. Gta 4 was 2007. I hope the 360 will be able to support the next installment six years later.
I just want the full experience. No waxy-skinned characters, long loading screens or questionable fps fluxuations. I don't mean to be picky, I just think Rockstar games deserve the best

Nah. The impending launch of next gen consoles will force their hand.
Granted, I'm not expecting it early or anything. It's going to be pretty late into the Spring I bet. Late May maybe.

It would cost R* a tonne for switching to next gen. Not to mention they probably have the kinks ironed out best as they can do with the 360 and PS3. Moving to the next gen would add more time and money to the development, which I imagine is already high.
I'll be waiting for a PC release though.

It's not really about port costs. R* could manage that. It's the install bases. With the large amount of money they've already put into GTA V, as well as the inevitably huge marketing budget, they need to do big numbers sales-wise.
They've got over 120 million consoles to sell to coming out on 360/PS3 and they've already had a ton of success on both platforms. Jumping in anywhere near the launch of new systems with such a massive game is way too risky.

My guess is that they already planned for October 2012 but couldn't make it, so they silently delayed the game to Spring 2013. That's why they put out a trailer over a year before the game's release, no GTA trailer has ever come out that early before.

Personally, I think that they wanted to release it this year, but had to push it back to Spring 2013 for whatever reasons.
As a previous poster said about the new consoles, the potential sales for combined Xbox 360 and PS3 are well over 100 million units. Added to that, the new consoles probably aren't coming out next year - a senior Microsoft executive said years ago that they want the Xbox 360 to last until approx 2015, and PS3 only released the super slim this year, so it is not likely that they would bring out a brand new console so soon after that.

I agree, as with gta iv, gta v will see at least one delay if not two. I think spring 2013 is a little soon. Id agree with TC, October 29th which is a tuesday will be the release date

I'm pretty sure it will come out in spring 2013. They already had an "unofficial" delay which is why it was pushed to Spring 2013. Not saying another delay isn't possible but I am too excited to think about delays lol

A lot of us in here have predicted for a long time now that it would be released in spring 2013, my prediction stands. I'm thinking end of April, early May 2013. Definitely no later than end of May. I don't see R* waiting any longer than that, they'll be needing a huge boost in their next fiscal yrs profit margin to make up for their current one.
