WKTT was great, but everything else was horrible. I did not recognize a single song from any radio station. I think Smashing Pumpkins had a song, 1979 I believe, but I rarely heard that.

The talk radio was on such short loops that you would hear the entire show simply driving across an island.

Vice Citys radio is god tier, only because I'm an 80s fan.

San Andreas was damn amazing too

3 was a joke, but Chatterbox is simply untouchable.

I think 3 had the worst radio stations but pretty much everyone agrees that GTA IV's music selection was garbage compared to VC and SA.
  • Nov 19, 2012 3:51 pm GMT
I honestly didn't care for SA's... I mostly just used the custom station.

No, we can't all agree. I didn't have an issue with any of the GTA's radio stations. Each being different and enjoyable. I think people are way too critical these days, if every single aspect of the game isn't to a persons ridiculous standard, they complain.

This broken record is getting tiresome regarding GTA IV.

TBoGT boosted Electro-Choc is an awesome station. Liberty Rock isn't bad, but the The Beat is awful and The Classics is only okay. Other stations I don't really bother with because I'm not into the genres, but I do find myself cruising to the JNR station sometimes because I can't find anything good on the others. Tbh, I want another jazz station like JNR in GTAV.

But anyway, imo it's radio is better than 3, but not as good as VC or SA.

I thought Radio Broker was great until the awful songs that TLAD added completely ruined it.

Radio broker, The Journey, and JNR were my favorite stations in any gta game. I loved gta3's radio stations.

Liberty Rock Radio was pretty much all I ever listened to. I liked GTA IV's music better than GTA III though. The only good station in that game was Chatterbox. I don't think any GTA game can ever beat Vice City in the music category though.

I thought fours stations were allright(only one station aside from talk radio i listened to and that was liberty city rock radio i think it was called hosted by ziggy pop) you know the station that had smashing pumpkins, heart, motley crue, alice cooper, black sabbath(absolutely loved heaven and hell, dio years) ELO, thin lizzy, joe walsh, the who, and who could forget Styx's Renegade... Saturdaynight Special by Lynyrd Skynyrd? Ac/dc Touch too much?! Run to the Hills by iron maiden? r u kiddin' me it had an excellent rock soundtrack, it even had elton john, but i'm unfamiliar with the EJ song...

Dr. Mojo i'd probably consult you for a physical because so-far everything you say is soo damn wise! i agree 3 was the worse in radio selection you avoid one major genre of music (rock) and place a crap load of crap music stations i mean come on i prefered the gay stations of 3 over any other stations, i prefered radio del mundo in gta lcs... Liberty City had the crappiest music selection of any city i'm convinced the background music of Vice city in gta 1 is better than liberty city music in 3 or lcs(not four because i thoroughly enjoyed the music from the dlc...

Anything with Bon Jovi is a good selection.

The Classics was awesome. Electrochoc and Vladivostok circa EfLC were awesome, and I enjoyed San Juan Sounds and The Beat as well.

So the soundtrack was maybe not as good as it's predecessors, but I still highly enjoyed it. EfLC did it a lot of favors though, Vanilla IV wasnt bad or anything but EfLC was a huge improvement.

Seems like my advice had no effect! Suffer like G did?

I disagree. I enjoyed Most of GTA IV's radio stations. The Beat, Tuff Gong, Massive B, Electro Choc (especially the one from the episodes) were all good radio stations IMO.
