Rockstar apparently once stated that less than 50% of the people who bought the game finished it.

Why would you even ask that? It is not the customer's job to know what they want. They know what’s good for you, and it's a shorter game. If you want a longer game buy the DLC $$$$$$$$$. GTA V is SRTT with a shiny coat of paint.
In addition, you think GTA IV area of gamefaqs was full of disgruntled GTA fans after release wait for the release of GTA V, the first major complaint is going to be the Clive Barkers Jericho "each character has their own ability" character switching GTA V gimmick.
We’ve finally reached the point where enough people are aware of the fact that the games they are consuming is having a negative impact on their health

I did kinda feel that GTA IV was a bit long. There were some nice missions but at a certain point the game felt like it was droning on.

GTA IV had two endings, it doesn't seem like a stretch for GTA V to have multiple.

Is there any way for devs to introduce a new mechanic without everyone crying "gimmick?" I'm really getting sick of that word.
