Since you can't buy property and our heroes already have their own homes (each at a seperate corner of LS) is it safe to say that there probably won't be any additional safehouses?

They're already spread out over the map (as reported), so it'd make sense that they'd give us these 3 and that'd be it.

That would kind suck. I mean to drive back to one of the three homes just to store a vehicle or to manually save would be annoying. I would think there would be more safehouses or garages spread throughout the map.

Maybe some of our lady friends will allow us to lay low with them on occasion.

...and also use their place as a temporary safehouse.

Roman and niko bought houses throughout the story. I would be very surprised if someones house DIDN'T get blown up throughout the story.

I think there will be multiple locations to store your cars/retrieve them - don't get me wrong. (Maybe even in the heart of the city (might even be able to borrow other protags cars from same car storage location) ).

But in order to save at the end of the day, you'll need to make a trip back to your safehouse... or switch to a character who is already close to home and use him to save, lol.

That doesn't sound like such a big deal now... does it? I'd live with it.

they say buying properties is out, but i would think "acquiring" new safehouses through the story like in IV is a given.

There's no property buying? Damn, I liked buying houses and storing cars in them in SA.

I have witnessed that which you did there.

Right side of street where the vehicle spins out Apt For Rent.

You can rent some places for a night IE Rent. The player can choose to rent a room, which will then function as a safehouse.

^ That would make sense, given that they used that system in RDR as well (mixed in with purchasable safehouses, though).

Since Rockstar is looking for realism, what it should do is rent you a home since in most cases the bank is the owner as evidenced during recent events.

Additionally they should lease you a vehicle or have you make payments on it, again most people don't own their vehicle.

Then they should have you make payments on your purchases, since a large percentage of people charge their purchases.

They should charge you the equivalent of $5.25 per gallon of gas also.

While their at it they should charge you local and state tax and have you fill a w2.

Since they have underwater exploration, why not have sharks everyone needs attorneys charging exorbitant fees.

Blame other countries then turn around and legalize drugs in Washington out of all places.

You want a side mission? Here's an educational one: Name the first US president that did not admit to using drug use. I'll make it simpler, name a politician that did not drink alcohol during prohibition?

Also known as a mortgage. Please don't tell me you're one of those people who assign 100% of the blame to banks for providing loans to people who had little chance of paying them back, when they weren't exactly holding guns to these morons' heads.

As for the rest of the quote, I'm not going to bother quoting/responding. I could be wrong, but you sound like you know just enough about the subjects to start arguments or otherwise be annoying, but not enough to have an actual discussion about them.

Also, I don't believe aquiring safehouses naturally IS a given in this game; seeing as how our protagonists live seperate lives and if one aquired a new safehouse, they'd all aquire one which wouldn't work out unless they've all got their hands in each others back pockets... which I hope isn't the case.

Renting from the same apartment complex/motel sounds about right (especially out in the wilderness in the small towns). Maybe each small town has a motel you can rent?

    No property buying?

    Less customization than SA?

V is beginning to sound like the direction they took with IV: an almost realistic movie with good graphics and zero fun factor.
  • Nov 20, 2012 8:08 am GMT
"Zero fun factor"? Wow, hyperbole much?

Please explain what "fun" buying safe houses brings to the table, and exactly what GTA games besides San Andreas offered that level of customization, let alone how that detracts from the fun. And actually, what level of customization that San Andreas had did they say that GTA V won't?
