I don't know what was going on with Rockstar, but this game was definitely a softer side. Probably the softest in the series and probably the last. You play a Vic Vance who is basically a nice guy. He's the only protagonist in the series that doesn't get swallowed in the hellish world of murder, crime, drugs, and sex. He lived above the influence even though he had a hand or two in it. Why I called Vice City Stories a love story is Vic falls Louise (a woman in an abusive marriage) and they two try to make a life for them but Vic slowly is dragged deeper and deeper into the life of crime that he loses focus on what matters most. In the end all is lost (which actually made me tear up a bit!) and he swears off drugs forever. However, stupid Lance continues on (and we all know what happens to him). In fact, Lance was a pain in the sit down from start to finish so I'm glad (and I'm sure others who'd played both games) knows how he ends up. The game is super easily. And if you use any cheats in this game…then shame on you. Shame. Though I will admit that I did use ONE cheat in the mission "Turn off, Tune in, Bug out." Those cops were soooooooo lame with it! And I couldn't find a car to save my life, so I used the wanted cheat. After that it was smooth sailing, up to the very end. So if you want a GTA game that's gonna fill in the gaps of Vice City then buy VCS. It's a good game, not the best, but pretty good.
