Rangers only throw weapons?

    I have a level 1 Hunter/Ranger and am liking the game so far but do Rangers always throw their weapon? Like I start out with a dingy axe but he throws it, I know he is a ranger and they are suppose to be ranged but I like when I can do a little bit of melee too. Because to me, taking stuff out from a range would be with bows n such not just an ordinary axe. Anyways thanks!

    I thought i saw pics of a ranger doing melee...

    The Starting axe is a throwing axe, rangers can uses bows (short and long), swords (melee, both one handed and two handed), daggers (melee), horns and touches

    yea swap to a bow its a lot better then throwing axes
