So GW2 has been out for 5+ months, what's endgame like? How much stuff is there to do?

Honestly? The "end game" is the same as every other MMO.

Except, instead of forcing you to grind for that one special piece of gear that you absolutely need to even get into certain content, all top tier (not counting Ascended) gear is easily bought from the TP, the Karma Vendors, gotten through dungeon tokens, or even crafted. The only thing you're grinding for is Armor and Weapon skins. Which, are of course personal preference.

A person that plays 24 hours a day, will not have better stats at 80 when fully geared than one that played only 1 or 2 hours a day. Their armors and weapons may look different, sure, and they'l obviously reach their goal sooner, but GW2 doesn't FORCE you to play more than you want.

And, there's of course PvP and World Completion.

Pretty much this. There are various dungeons you can do, each with their own armor/weapon sets. Fractal dungeon, which is eight different small dungeons randomized in sets of 3 that gets harder with better rewards the further you go.

odd level fractals are sets of 3, even level fractals are sets of 4.

Honestly, end game in this game is just running dungeons for 60+ hours to get a set of gear that won't really give you a tangible advantage over anything. Soooo, yeah. I suppose there's also world exploration if that's your thing. Not saying that's any different from any other MMO, but Guild Wars 2 has somehow managed to take the magic out of that OMGZ RANDOM GEAR DROP and just make it seem tedious, imo.

    What? No. Not at all.
if you CHOOSE to run dungeons for your gear, thats on you. That's a choice. You can also simply buy the gear, or do dailies and buy Karma stuff.

I wasn't aware you could just buy sets of dungeon armor which are unarguably the coolest looking and best armors in the game. In fact, just checked on it, you can't. Also, what is really the point of doing dailies and karma farming when you're already level 80? Dailies are nothing but an XP grind which is pointless at 80 since they don't even let you save up to the eventual level 81 that we'll get with a future expansion. Karma is also pointless since most of the gear you can buy with karma pales in comparison to the dungeon sets and at best, is just for looks.

Again, that's skins. You get thsoe AFTER you get your regular armor sets. Thats the entire point behind GW2's end game. Optional Skins.

You chose to grind a single dungeon for 60 hours. I chose to get enough money to buy my Exotics, and then replace their skins with dungeon or karma skins at my own pace.

Choice. You have it, I have it. You were never forced to do your crazy dungeon runs.

Also, have you ever done a daily? The main reason to do them are the karma Jugs. Not the XP.

Guild Wars gear has always been about the looks, not the stats... so if you're complaining about that, then perhaps Guild Wars isn't your franchise.

    1. Dungeon armors
    2. Fractals - ascended equipments

    Both are useless.

Dungeon armors = Cosmetic. Your exotic is worth the same.
Beauty is in the eye of the beholder. Once you acquire your favourite looks, dungeons no longer are rewarding.

Fractals = A mere stupid 1% increment from previous stats per equipment.
You grind so hard and get that increment with a stupid meteorite appearance gears.

The problem with Guild Wars 2 is, it promotes equality until it's no longer a "game".
In games, there are status, prestige and ranks. There are winners and losers.
In Guild Wars 2, there's no winners or losers but everyone was given consolation prizes.

Human Nature: People can only appreciate what others lack.
This what makes GW2 a great game, but a poor mmorpg.

    So. wait.
Because GW2 doesn't promote player competition in a PvE environment, it's no longer a "game"? Seriously?

That's not human nature at all.

Yeah. It's just like any other multi-player games like UNO, arcade, board games, video games.
Once players don't compete with another in multi-player PVE, it's no longer a "game".

"Games" became meaningless once there's no winners & losers.
This is why mmorpg keeps it's elitism traits and features in PVE.

In any mmorpgs, players seek to compare.
Players seek to be "more special" than other players.

This just in, Dark souls is not a game!!! It has no PvE competition AT ALL therefore is not a game and has no form of elitism at all!

Seriously Indigo, you just sound stupid. And don't say you're talking strictly about MMOs because you aren't.

I guess that also means RPGs are not games.

I guess neither of those are games.

Couldn't be further from the truth. Most of the dungeon sets look like ass, and I cannot believe you consider them to be the "unarguable best looking sets". That is laughable. I want to believe you're just being a troll because of the ludicrous nature of that statement, but I digress.

Dungeon armor does not have a single higher stat than any other armor in the game. Crafted or purchased with karma, any level 80 exotic armor has identical stats (excluding the differences in the stats present, like power vs. vitality). Simply purchasing exotics is actually the least time intensive way to get them, with the average player being able to make roughly 1g per hour at level 80 if they focus on actually playing and killing mobs.

This fact goes against everything you seem to think GW2 is about. You do not run dungeons for no reason -- you either run them because you like them and want to do them, with a possible goal being to obtain armor whilst doing so -- or you don't run them. It's a very easy decision to make if dungeons aren't your thing. I have four sets of exotic armor and a stack of ectos in my bank, and I have probably run a total of ten dungeons across 400 hours of gameplay.

You obviously have no idea how Guild Wars 2, or Arena Net for that matter, works. The level cap will very likely not be raised, ever. Guild Wars 1 has had the same level TWENTY cap since 2005 when it launched, and has three expansions out. You obviously missed the point of experience at level 80. It rewards you skill points upon "leveling up", which can be used to make ridiculous amounts of money with the Mystic Forge once you know what you're doing.

Karma is needed to purchase exotic sets, with the same stats as the dungeon sets and much better appearances. 252,000 karma is needed for a full set, so there is every reason to do dailies and get karma. You can never have too much equipment, because it's 3.5 silver maximum to reset your traits and you can have armor/weapon for virtually any playstyle ready to go.

I'm not talking about MMOs. I'm talking about MMORPG.
MMO is a whole. MMORPG is a sub-category.

Hell with your logic for relating Dark Souls to PVE competition.
Dark Souls is not even a mmorpg, and you playing it as SINGLE-PLAYER.
Sorry, it's seriously dumb that you twist and refute it with some irrelevent stuff.

A game that consist of multi players where you don't compete with each other = not a game.
    It's merely a playground.

Full-stop. Can't interpret nor understand? It's your problem dude.
