- The Bottom Line:
- "Great multiplayer"
Let me just start of by saying I prefered Guild Wars 1 to this one, they are very different games and in my opinion GW1 was better accomplished.
This game is divided into 3 separate types:
PvE - these areas consist, in constrast of what happened in GW1, of open explorable areas where the players in the server can coexist. Only when you enter certain instances or dungeons will you be alone with your party.
sPvP - or structured PVP, works in a way that allows everyone to play at the same level, this way the only thing that distinguish a player from another, is his class and skill playing GW2
WvW - world vs world is a new game mode in which the players from one server work together to battle against 2 other servers in order to control different outposts or towers or castles there are. Capturing and holding these control points gives you boosts.
The Guild concept is also quite different from GW1 in which you can join many guilds, being only able to represent one at a time, and receive bonuses from it by the guild members cooperating in doing tasks.
The title system is also very different and better in my opinion. You now have daily and monthly tasks you can do to get you prizes and that's really motivating to play this game everyday.
Although it seems flawless at first, this game can get really grinding and you get bored easily.
GW1 had a major attractive, Guild vs Guild, here you don't.
GW1 had enjoyable tournaments you can join and compete in different game modes not just TDM as you have here.
Overall, the game is good to play if you don't have a lot of time. For hardcore gamers that don't leave the chair, it gets old.
I'll rate it with a permissive 8, hoping this game will improve in a near future.
