Installing Half-life 2?

So when i go to install half-life 2 i get to the 4th disc and it starts making some funny noise and never finishes the install. ive tried uninstalling steam and all the files that it did install but whenever i try to reinstall it always gets stuck on the 4th disc.

Try installing it through Steam rather than with your CDs. It takes a long time to download the files, but they'll work without a CD.

Your 4th disk is probably scratched and your computer is unable to read all of it, i suggest you contact steam support
