Half Life 2 was released so long ago but I still felt I had to play it based on what I had heard about it. All I can say is that the game is amazing. The graphics are decent, but it shines with gameplay and one of the best physic systems put in a video game. The story pulls you in, and the experience really sucks you into a new world completely. The game has great characters including the mute, yet iconic Dr. Gordon Freeman. Although Freeman never speaks, the supporting characters who do, show you the great voice acting and character creation Valve put into this game.

The game has several epic moments throughout the campaign that give you that wow feeling. A lot of games may be pretty fun playing through the campaign casually, but in Half Life 2, some moments can make your jaw drop. Riding the hover boat in a helicopter chase with everything around you exploding, or striders demolishing city 17 attempting to take you down.

Half Life 2 provides everything you want in an fps, and is one of the rare games that earns that 'timeless' title.
