Half-Life User Review

- The Bottom Line:
- "Masterpiece"
I remember those days of games like Doom, Quake, and Unreal ruling the planes of the first person shooter.
Suddenly, there was Half -Life. At first, I was a bit reluctant to jump the hype wagon this game created over the media. Until finally, I decided to find out what all the fuss was all about.
I can without a doubt say, that this is a first person shooter along with its sequel I play(ed) the most.
I played this game dozens, dozens of times, along with all the extensions, opposing force, blue shift, even dozens of mods made by fans.
When I get a little nostalgic or I want to remind myself the kind of standard a good decent shooter really is all about, I play this game. Even till this day( granted, the graphics are dated), this game leaves the rest behind in a wake of dust.
I even go as far to say that every other first person shooter I incidentally branch out to, despite all their high defenition graphics, game play improvements, complex intricate story-lines, they simply fall bland on my eyes and ears.
It's just something about this game that keeps calling you back to Black Mesa.
Time and Time again.

With its great story and design, Half-Life arrives to bring rejuvenation to a genre at risk of stagnation.
