Are you being serious right now? Are you really asking me to spell out for you why I would possibly come here if I don't care about what every single person here has to say?
No, I am not asking that. But thank you for the response longer than 5 words. That was my goal. I presented an intelligent argument masked by an angry facade. I expected some emotional responses, and some debate. But apathy I can't stand.

1. It's not just MLG gamers. Some people just like classic Halo.
2. Not all changes are good. (For example, some Halo fans don't like how a lot of the changes are features that are in CoD.)
3. Using your same logic, the 'casuals' shouldn't have infection, Swat, Grifball, or other 'casual' playlists because people can play those gametypes in customs.
4. MLG players don't hate all the changes. (For example, where are all the complaints about the new weapons?)
5. Even though 'casuals' may make up a majority, chances are that most of them will move on to other games.
6. Most Halo players are at least slightly competitive. (Most gametypes focus on players competing to win.)
Just my thoughts on the matter.
1. I have no issue with this. My argument was about competitiveness as defined by BxR guys.
2. I understand this sentiment, and won't debate it much. I DO like those changes though.
3. No. My logic argues against the entire game being balanced for MLG. I have no problem with an MLG playlist.
4. Never said they hated all changes.
5.They still represent the majority of the money spent on the product.
6. Conceded. Some competitiveness is expected. Perfectly balanced competition is not, however.
Thank you, though, for your time and consideration. Civility is all we have, if we lose that we're in sad shape.
Also, to all participants, I apologize for my deceptions in this topic. They were designed to bring in challengers.
On that note, I must sign off for the night. See you tomorrow.

Modeling my household budget after the Congressional model since 2006. My court hearing for debt is in 2 weeks. - Oct 3, 2012 4:28 pm GMTI find it amusing how smug people are using "we're the majority, so what we say goes" type arguments when they're in the majority, but resent that kind of argument when they're not.
Part of the problem is that Halo is advancing while the competitive side isn't. The new changes are not made for competition and there's only so much that can be adjusted with the settings. So most of them get left out and we're playing essentially the same game as previous versions with slightly different weapons and sometimes different maps.
The game doesn't need to be balanced for competition. The game needs to have solid foundations for competition, so that good competitive playlists and gametypes can be built off of it and other, less competitive playlists, can be built as well. Then everyone is happy.
Unfortunately, that's not what's happening. What's happening is that the developers are catering to the "casual" crowd while leaving the competitive crowd alone. The things they are introducing are almost surely only good for "casual" play and not at all beneficial for competitive play. It's not about choosing whether to appease the casual crowd or the competitive one, as those aren't mutually exclusive. The problem is that the casual crowd is getting stuff because it is easier to appeal to them than it is to appeal to both and that group is the majority, which is where the money lies.
Competitive players tend to have a dislike for casual players because casual players are in part the reason the game they love is not advancing and is continually pushing them to the side. Further, some casual players tend to think that they are entitled to the game THEY want because they're in the majority and that the competitive players should just suck it up because they are a comparably small group. Oddly enough, most people are only ok with that kind of reasoning while they're in the majority. Also, some casual players like to comment on what takes "skill" or how competition "ought" to work, when they are clearly lacking in skill.
Oddly enough, you won't find competitive players telling casual players that MLG or competition is the way they ought to be playing. For the most part, competitive players don't care how the rest of the game works out. We want a game that is solid that we can also enjoy and not be told to "go somewhere else if you don't like default," which is essentially saying "you should like what I like or you should leave." We, for the most part, simply want "casual" players to stop acting as though they are entitled to their desires because they're in the majority and, because they're in the majority, that their opinions ought to be taken seriously on subjects they know nothing about. I don't talk about how a triple bypass surgery should be conducted because I know very little on the subject, likewise players who are not playing competitively ought not talk about how competition should be done.
Often times, people resort to calling casual players who think their opinion on competitive play matters bad because it's much faster than typing up 3.8k characters explaining it, only to have them not understand and continue to tell good players what "skill" is, and it gets the same point across: your opinion on this subject does not matter. If you can demonstrate otherwise, then sure. But I haven't seen it. Being bad and asserting "this is what skill is and you're wrong" means nothing because you have nothing to back up your assertion. Good players generally agree on what takes skill. A bad player asserting otherwise means nothing because they are not good and simply assert what they claim to be true with little support.

Consider it what you want, I honestly don't care what you think or else I would've already explained it
Consider this then:
You come to an internet chat board, where people talk about games. They literally do nothing else.
If you don't care about what other people have to say on that board, what does that make you?
I care about what a select few here say. You are not one of them.
If anybody was curious, I am one of those people.

lol, excellent point, although I'd prefer to poke the bear, at least for now. More fun to be had that way. lol
Somebody might have mentioned this, but isn't it really hypocritical to agree with and applaud somebody who blocked half the forum, but then get on Apple's case for not caring what some people think?
