Wow even though COD is like Same Crap Different Year and HALO stopped porting on PC since the death of HALO 2, They both are very reasonable video games.

Franchise director Frank O'Connor says Halo built with balance in mind, Call of Duty favors players with the "bigger gun."
Based on the caption, Frank O'Connor is full of crap. Call of Duty sucks, but it favors twitch reflexes over "big guns." In rounds of Halo, teams start out balanced, but all balance gets thrown out the window 10 seconds later when somebody grabs the power weapons on the map. Then everybody fights over the rocket launcher for the rest of the round. Yeah... balance.
@Rippletonz And one other thing 85% of the kills u get in a match in halo is the guns u start with IT'S A FACT.
@Rippletonz your talking shit m8 the rocket launcher fires 4 rockets and then take's 2 MINS to respawn, so how can u fight for it the entire match if it takes 2 mins to respawn and takes 5 seconds to use all 4 rockets? theres ONE rocket not two or three in EACH level it hardly turns the tide of the match. (unless there's vehicles then it changes the match slightly)
@jayjay444 5 seconds to use all four rockets? If you can avoid nonsense exaggerations like that, we can have a discussion. The fact is, there's only one of them on the map that teams have to fight over. Thus, it dictates the action. Especially on smaller maps, or in rounds of deathmatch, everybody fights over the rocket launcher, somebody goes on a streak with it and waits for it to respawn. Even if the rocket launcher doesn't get all of the kills, it determines the balance of the match. The same holds true for any of the pick-up power weapons.
My main point is that putting the most powerful weapons in the game on the ground is an idiotic way to structure a multiplayer match. If you're going to do that, you have to build the entire map around them, placing them in strategic points and making sure they are equally reachable by both teams. Yet another way the weapon tyrannically dictates everything.
It's the same way Gears of War does it. I don't hate Halo or Gears, I just hate the routine of racing to the pick-up weapon, fighting over it with my starting equipment, and then (hopefully) using it.
I see where your coming from i think that could work but on the other hand it could make things even worse, best way to test it is to create a map in forge get a few friends in, put rockets on both sides and see if its any good. And if it is then try get the developer to change it but personaly i dont have an issue with the game the way it is i love it:)
@jayjay444 Yeah I get what you're saying, I just don't think it's the right way to do it if you want balanced gameplay. I don't like this concept in any of the games you listed, but for the record, I never even said anybody should change. All I said is that balance is over with as soon as somebody grabs a power weapon. Just because both teams have a chance to run for the weapon does not make it balanced, because as soon as that weapon is in somebody's hands, the balance is gone.
I don't care if weapons are on the ground or in the sky or even underwater, as long as the gameplay is balanced. A class-based system like Battlefield, or a currency-based system like Counter-Strike wouldn't really work for Halo. I don't see why they can't just put a rocket launcher on each team's side, so both teams can have one at the same time. That would even it out.
@Rippletonz the weapons are in strategic place's for example blood gulch has 1 sniper for each team the rocket launcher is in the Middle of the map where both team have a equal chance of getting it, and all guns that are on the map have a equal chance of getting them.
Also almost all the classic game's have weapons that spawn on the map and u have to run and fight over them, Half-life Deathmatch/ Quake/ Duke Nukem/ Gears of war/ etc etc. so in my opinion your wrong if halo need to change the way it is then all these games ive named would have to change as well so why should all these games change just because u think u should start with the powerfull weapons?
in my opinion it adds depth to the game having to fight for a better weapon than it dose starting with it, starting with it u dont have nothing to lose for dyeing where as not starting with it makes u want that gun more and makes u a little scared and a little anxious cause u dont want to lose it, it's just my personal opinion but i think u will see where i am coming from.
Both the same game to me. Moving away from FPS games due to fps fatigue! I'll try and give it a year or so then come back to it. This may bring back the wow factor. Im looking forward to metal gear solid 5, GTA 5 and i dont know why but i fancy some kind of rally game with proper rally stages against the clock.............humm.......
Well COD was heavily inspired by halo so of course they are similar. Halo has always been about balance and competitive play COD is about crazy action its just a different end goal.Actually most modern console games are based off the platform Halo CE, for single player and combat, and halo 2 for online play...
Two weapon limit. Extra grenade-throwing hand. Matchmaking system. dedicated melee button, theater, player emblems etc...
@larkin-54 well said. new age gamers think COD is the grand master of game creation when they dont know the history of halo
Give it a rest. They both copy off of each other The next COD game will take something from Halo 4, Halo 5 will take something from COD. It's a circle jerk.
@GreySeven All of us waiting badly for something original and new to come.Got to wait for a long time for something like that to come.Especially an FPS game.
Please god can I stop hearing Call of Duty in every #$%@ video or comment section on any game? I will resort to babbling in a corner like a mentally unstable lunatic muttering "Call of Duty" over and over again because ive heard that phrase so many god forsaken times.
Halo is nothing like Call of Duty because they are in different settings, plus Halo graphics are always looking their best and not cruddy like COD.
@g1rldraco7 I play Call of Duty Modern Warfare 3 in online multiplayer, i have to adimit: is not the best multiplayer, but have the best campain ever with NPC characters and history. Halo is superior in multiplayer but isn't in campain.
@ghost688 Halo 3 Best Campaign and you spelt it wrong
@ghost688 Plus MW 3 Is very racist in infected on a bunsh of the Maps the Black Guys are the infected ones
@gamefreak215jd Halo has Great multiplayer and why do you come to halo 4 section if you're just gonna Troll?
