Item Buffs

Wondering if someone could explain the dynamics of buffing for me...

Can white buffs be pulled from items and be pretty much "kept" indefinitely? If I had a AP Up buff could I remove it from an item and if I find a better item, move it to the new item, etc.?

Is the item the buff is pulled from destroyed?

Hm, guess I'm asking in a nutshell: is the only downside to transferring item buffs the cost in happy stars?

If you transfer a buff to another equipment, your previous equipment will be destroyed. That's the downside, or cost if you will. So technically, a white buff can be kept indefinitely, but any other buffs that were on the previous equipment will be lost.
