Although you wouldn't know it from my Wii Fit age, I am a fairly regular gym user. I enjoy spending time exercising--especially if there's the promise of a relaxing sauna at the end of it. Here's the training regime that my last gym recommended to me when I asked them about losing weight:

Warmup

5 mins biking at increased difficulty level each minute, raising to level 10

Cardio

20 mins cross-training at level 10

10 mins rowing at level 7

Cool-down

3 x 10 chest presses of 25 kilos

2 x 15 sit-ups with legs on swiss ball

2 x 15 sit-ups sat on swiss ball

Given the Wii Fit challenge, do you think I should be increasing or decreasing my activity at the gym? Last night I added a 10 minute run into the cardio area, and I definitely felt better for it. Anyone out there with any expertise able to help me out on this?

If you do that routine at the gym a couple of times per week I don't think the Wii Fit will make any difference for you. To improve your cardiovascular capacity through the Wii Fit the intensity of that workout have to be at least at the same level (or higher) as the one in the gym. So, if you work out at a lower intensity on the Wii Fit your cardiovascular capacity won't get better. You still burn some fat even though your physical capacity won't change. If you want to measure the effect of the Wii Fit you should change nothing at the gym. If you do you don't know if the difference after your Wii Fit trial is because of the Wii Fit or an effect of the changed routine at the gym.

Don't know if this answers your question but I hope so. It's hard to write this in english since it's not my native language but I hope I got my point through.

Good luck with that Wii Fit thing you do.
