Heavy Rain was easily the best game I've ever played, and I've played a lot of games. It was different to the point of not seeming like a game at all. The story was fantastic. There may have been a few small plot holes, but nothing major and certainly nothing that detracts from the experience. The charatcers were wonderful and you really got to feel like you knew them and cared for them. The game had many mundane tasks that somehow became fun to do. The game also has more than enough pulse pounding moments of high tension. The reveal of the killer in my opinion matched the suprise of "Would you kindly" in Bioshock. The graphics are fantastic..the sound even better. The unique aspect of the gameplay..the solid story..the great characters..all in all a very memorable gaming experience.

If you take the game for what it is, an "Interactive Movie", you will find this to be an awesome experience.
