- Jun 20, 2012 7:22 pm GMTWell, I'm a huge 3DS gamer who's racked up over 1,300 hours on RE Mercs 3D, about 500 on RE:R, and hundreds of hours on other games. Well, I run a chatzy of people that originally started out in Mercs and a few of us were interested in this game. I read over some topics, but the one that stuck out the most was replay value. I really treasure playing a game time and again, but I've heard that it was short and the replay value was horrible. I know next to nothing about this game, but what is there replay value wise about this game? It'd really help finalizing my group's decision about this game. Thanks.

Well if you enjoy going through the story in games alot then there should be plenty of replayability here for you. I mean it may be short but there are 4 classes and daily quests etc etc to keepn you busy and despite what veryones said bad about the game that doesnt change the fact that this game is FUN, very fun particually multiplayer.
My activity log reads 68 hours for this now and ive had it since friday so its certainly very entertaining to keep e playing solidly all this time.
I only got 120hours out of RE:R so if you got 500 then perhaps you could get 300hrs out of this if you did enough multiplayer with your friends over the coming months, the games random based dungeons change just enough that id happily play through the game time and again feeling very entertained the whole time. (partly because voice chat means you can chat while you play too ^__^)

3DS FC: 4682-8775-8377 - Jun 21, 2012 2:27 pm GMTI've only done around 15 hours on HoR, if you can get 500 from RE:R (I got around 30hr out of it) you will certainly get more out of this than the average person who plays HoR.
If I remember, RE:R had more content, it had three dificulty levels and unlockables etc, certainly "better" content than this game, but as said, it can be more "fun" online if you are in a "clan" of sorts, the chat is this games best feature, something most 3ds games should have IMO.
The gameplay itself is not as good as RE:R, I actually feel like buying RE:R again now!

3DS FC: 4682-8775-8377 - Jun 21, 2012 2:35 pm GMTI always trade in my games after finishing, the only time I don't applies to RPG's. I agree, RE:R is the best 3ds game I've played so far, I think I was too critical of it at the time.
Like mario Kart, I just didn't like the powerups as they seemed to unbalance everything too much, apart fro mthat, relly good game

Sorry to disagree. Kid Icarus Uprising is a more complete and better game. RER is the close second, of course.

KI:U has a Vs online mode I suppose and its only better than RE:R on that front, but other than that RE:R has better visuals, better gameplay, more replayability, better use of 3D etc etc
KI:U is a very good game i agree but all its levels feel very much alike, play one and youve played em all kinda thing. I also dislike games that have touchscreen only controls IF they are action combat games, touch screen is lovely BUT in an action combat game your reaction times increase with buttons and KI:U has a horrid screen turning mechanism.

Its not an issue as such it just is onje of the main reasons why RE:R is better, it doesnt break the game or anything it just drops it a few places on the all time 3DS charts i suppose

3DS FC: 4682-8775-8377 - Jun 24, 2012 6:18 am GMTJust to be sure your original question gets answered doomsday, the "replayability" of this game may not be what you would expect from this genre.
After you "beat" the game, you cannot go back and fight any of the bosses and there is no reason to grind for better gear as there are no endgame dungeons or increased difficulty.
The replayability comes from playing the game OVER again as different classes with different skill sets.
I think if you go in expecting an endgame after playing RER and KIU, you'll be greatly disappointed. But, if you go in realizing that the game is designed to be played over and over again with different skill sets, you'll be good.
I hope that helps. - Jun 25, 2012 6:59 am GMTklecser posted...
