Hitman 2: Silent Assassin User Review

I can't say this game hasn't aged, but it sure keeps kicking ass.

The Bottom Line:
"Ambitious"
Imagine you have from 10 to 20 small scenarios, all of them with 30-40 characters, all of them with a routine.
Imagine a killer enters the scenario, with a mission, a victim, imagine how he alters the environment in different ways to approach his victim, how he interacts with the characters, how he changes their routines, or end their lives.

That is hitman, and when you play the game, you're the killer.

Excuse me for getting poetical, but ironically, this game (a game where you kill in cold blood) makes me feel that way.

This whole saga is, in my opinion, one of the stones that form the bridge between old-linear gaming and new-open gaming. Where the game makes you think and be creative, and also makes each experience different.

Of course hitman 2 is not perfect in that regard, it's relatively simple if you compare it to games like fallout for example, but keep in mind this is a mission based action game, not an rpg, so I was amazed by that.

I have played this game several times, but this is the first time I get to the end, for different reason pertaining to my personal life, not because the game wasn't worth of finishing it.

But the point is, I could go back to this game more than once and still enjoy it , because every time you play you can make it different. There are many approaches to try in each level.

The gameplay itself feels solid enough, the aiming works great in a pc, and you can even toggle 1st person if you're not comfortable with 3rd.
I just had one bug in the whole game where a door disappeared, but that may be because I was playing on ubuntu.

The plot, in my opinion, is rather weak, but I don't think this game does even need a plot, just have a target, kill it.

All in all, I think it's a wonderful game, but I can't give it more than 8 because in the end, I know this formula has been and will be improved, and I'll look forward to that.
