Hitman: Absolution User Review

Aside from a dull AI system, Hitman: Absolution provides hours of fun with a fresh story and the new Contracts mode.

The Bottom Line:
"Solid"
It's been a long time since we have seen Agent 47 in action. Blood Money was solid for it's release time but is dated it you play it now. Now, in 2012, Agent 47 has rebelled from his employers and gone loose. Hitman: Absolution is a fantastic game with a fantastic story mode that will take you a while to complete, but even when you do, there is the brand new Contracts mode waiting for you after completion to keep the fresh gameplay still fresh.

Absolution is a great game, but it's one major flaw is the AI. You can act suspicious in a disguise, crouching around everywhere and the AI will only ignore. It seems like they have no peripheral vision and just seem to wonder in there programmed paths. The other minor flaw with this game is one that the developers seem to have with their other series: Kane & Lynch. The shooting mechanics are bland and almost seem robotic. The AI has terrible aim and will often run past Agent 47 just to take cover.

Contracts mode is new to the Hitman series. In Contracts, you can go into any level from the campaign and make your own hits. However you kill the targets you choose, the game will record your steps and publish it into there server as a contract. You can send it to your friends and challenge them to beat your high score. The new mode is almost endless as there are over 20,000 contracts already made, plus some the developer has included.

Hitman: Absolution hits the nail on the head, where others (Splinter Cell, Manhunt, etc.) have hit in the stealth department. Aside from it's issues, Absolution is a great game that some may want to rent first just in case it's not enough for you.

A tribute to Hitman series. Made with Blood Money and a few Contract games. Videos were recorded in gameplay and edited in Vegas.
