The first trailer in the Introducing series for Hitman: Absolution focuses on Agent 47.
this Hitman is going to be diferent, i'll miss the old gameplay and music from Jesper Kyd... I hope this one will be as good as the old ones or better...
@The_Godfather_ hitman has always been behind in that department, but its gameplay is where it excels greatly
Not for everyone I know but. Splinter Cell Convictions + Hitman sounds perfect to me.Really liked convictions over the rest of the games. This will be epic. I
Looking like everything I love about the Hitman series. Storyline was lovely and all, but can't say I ever played it for the cut scenes. Was always about the sneakiest kills and getting away from the location scott free with no one any the wiser that you had been there.
What's going on with Death to Spies 3? Because it's far less popular, I'm hoping that it will stick to the old gameplay, although if I recall it is supposed to be on consoles too which is a dangerous sign. No offense, but it's just the way it is.
Without further ado I'll begin my exposition on why it's pretty damn obvious the series has gone to the dogs, turning into a linear corridor cover shooter:
Gamercast: http://tinyurl.com/6n4ap4u
''Hitman Absolution promises to take the series into a new direction, by improving on the clunky controls, cover system, overhauling the disguise, and button prompts, but REMOVING THE CORE SANBOX STYLE LEVELS THAT HITMAN IS SYNONYMOUS WITH...
IO Interactive have always been true believers in the freedom of choice, and although HITMAN WILL FEATURE FAR MORE SCRIPTED EVENTS THAN EVER...
The most obvious improvement on Absolution is the COVER SYSTEM, which to be fair is necessary in a stealth title and takes the series up to speed with all of the current third person action titles like Gears of War
The cover system looks impeccable, and he moves from cover to cover with the press of a button''
So, what do we have here: no more sandbox levels, cover system, Gears of War and the ever-present 'awesome' button console design.

"One of the problems with old hitman game was that unless you were an expert in the game, would you look like a real little killer," says Tore Blystad*. "THIS TIME IT'S NOT HARD TO BE A GOOD ASSASSIN. Instead, it's hard to keep the situation under control, and hold yourself back from going berserk. WE'D RATHER TRY TO TEMPT THE STEALTHY PLAYERS TO GO INTO A MORE ACTION-ORIENTED ."
*Tore Blystad is currently the Game Director of Hitman: Absolution.
Hey, at least the guy is completely honest about how he's killing the Hitman series, that's a lot more than you can expect from a developer like, say, Bioware.
By the way, the only real challenging Hitman was Hitman: Codename 47, but I guess the market now dictates that console kids need a quick and rewarding (and forgettable) gaming experience, so now the Hitman series will be dumbed down to please the mainstream customers.
The fans at the Hitman boards are raging of course, and Tore took enough flak to tweet this:
http://twitter.com/#!/ToreBlystad/status/74197783980158976
''Wow, people are going crazy about this 'appeal to broader audience'. I will stop talking about that for now, you'll have to wait and see.''
No sh!t, Tore!!, he basically said ''I'll stop talking about how I utterly dumbed down the series for the masses.'' But here he answers why he did it:
''Bart (Neon_25 Bart) @ToreBlystad: Why do you want it to appeal broadly? AFAIK Blood Money sold extremely well, while retaining the "hardcore" values.
27 May in reply to @Neon_25 ?
@ToreBlystad Tore Blystad @Neon_25: Blood money was also extremely expensive to produce and suffered a lot of piracy.''
So he destroyed the franchise because, despite various reports indicating good sales for Blood Money, 2.1 million units sold (not counting digital sales) is apparently just not enough.
From our beloved GS http://tinyurl.com/6rba6qg
''It's a game that SEEMS TO BE AIMING FOR MORE OF A SCRIPTED, CINEMATIC STYLE THAN PREVIOUS GAMES IN THE SERIES. We like how well executed the drama was and the way the game stylishly painted 47 as a lethal wrecking ball on the run.''
Nothing much to add there.

''* Use of cover mechanics.
* Bigger focus on staying hidden, rather than staying in disguise.
* Instinct mode highlights enemies and their patrols through walls.
* No big scale map screen as in previous games.
* Levels will be divided into checkpoints for the first time.
* 47 and Diana will have new voice actors.
* Each disguise has safe spots, like a box of doughnuts for police men.
* You?ll be completely safe in that disguise for as long as you want.''
On the subject of 47's longtime voice actor (David Bateson)

Hi David
I'm a big fan of the Hitman series and your voice work, which is why I'm writing this email. According to a recent article in video game magazine Edge, IO interactive allegedly dropped you as the voice actor for Agent 47 and went with someone else. I was very shocked when I heard about this, and I felt like IO had betrayed not only you, but the fans aswell. The Hitman fans have grown to love your distinctive voice as Agent 47, and many of them are now literally going crazy over at the hitmanforum.com, demanding an answer from IO. Is there any way you can confirm or deny this? If not, maybe a short and vague comment about it? I would really appreciate that, and I think all of your fans would too. If it is in fact true, then I can safely say that Hitman will never be the same again. I will keep this between us, if that is what you wish.
Thank you for all your work. Now if you'll excuse me, "I need to use the bathroom". ;-)
Sincerely

Hi Emil The absolute truth is: no one from IO Interactive is answering my calls, e-mails or sms. Feeling very let down at the moment but I haven't heard personally. Cheers
David.''
Some more gems from Tore Blystad to wrap this up:
''The first four Hitman games from IO Interactive have sold approximately 10 million copies worldwide. But the Copenhagen-based game developer IS TARGETING AN EVEN BROADER AUDIENCE with its 2012 release, Hitman: Absolution.
?The Hitman games of past have been very hardcore,? said Tore Blystad, game director at IO Interactive. ?Even though the fantasy of the Hitman universe has a very universal appeal, THE GAMES HAVE BEEN SO DIFFICULT TO PLAY, that it?s been more of an acquired taste. The biggest challenge that we had with this game was to MAKE IT MUCH BROADER IN EVERY SENSE, so that it was EASIER TO PLAY AND MORE ACCESSIBLE.?
The game studio has created brand new technology to bring A MORE CINEMATIC STORY TO LIFE.''
So there you have it folks, I guess it's understandable to get exited for a new Hitman title but it seems this time it's blatantly obvious the direction (down, and in flames) where these hacks are taking the franchise. Nice to have known you, 47.
PS: sorry for the poor format of the post, but this new, revamped and more broader and accessible comments section doesn't allow bbcode anymore LOL
TL;DR version: http://sadpanda.us/images/526577-I7CQ09E.jpg
from the 2nd one and on i found these releases exciting and compelling if played the right way. this looks amazing glad to see this is actually being released.
[quote] Lol. Sorry but that's bollocks. You can't judge a game(any game) by a few random cutscenes taken from it.Geez. [/quote]
I didn't judge the game, AGAIN, I MENTIONED ONE TINY PORTION OF THE VIDEO THAT LOOKED LIKE MARK AND EXECUTE MECHANISM.
[quote]It wasn't real time walkthrough. Jumping with conclusion based solely on that is stupid.Sorry.[/quote]
I never said it was. It was either a cut scene OR a mark and execute mechanism, that is what it looked like. Jumping on my ass over that little thing is stupid. grow up.
[quote]Yes, I need to address everyone who act like they know everything about a game, based on a few minutes of random scenes. When in fact they know nothing. Sorry. It's a free world, everyone can comment whatever he/she likes.[/quote]
Again, douche, I didn't act like I knew EVERYTHING about the game, you liar. I MENTIONED ONE LITTLE PORTION OF THE VIDEO, i.e. 4 seconds. And i didn't tell you to stop addressing everyone, I told you that you didn't have to do it, ESPECIALLY since I only addressed FOUR SECONDS OF THE VIDEO.
It's not a free world, nothing is free in this world. Grow up.
This game has always excelled at creating a moody atmosphere and giving the player a real sense of control within constraints. Lots of memories with the previous installments. This one looks to accomplish the same and more!
Man this game is gonna rock like always Hittman it was one of my best games i ever plaid beside Battlefield.
This looks very good! By the looks of it they haven't tried to change the gameplay too much which is a good thing.
Some scenes really reminded me of "Arkham Asylum", but it still looks like the good old Hitman that I always loved to play
Oh my goodness this is the biggest tease ever, I've been looking forward to this since Blood Money and this just makes the wait even worse. Such a cool video and I like that lady's voice narrating, sexy =P
I remember her voice from Need for Speed Hot Pursuit aswell when your choosing a car. I'll never forget her saying such things like "Codenamed Blue Devil, the Corvette ZR1 is the most powerful and most expensive Corvette model ever" =)
I want to know when this is being released though, IO-Interactive is keeping it quiet, I don't want it rushed though, it'll definitely be worth the wait in my opinion.
really i love this,,,i played every games of this series ,,,,,they were awesome,,,,nd i m sure i gonna love this one
If you want to play "guns blazing" style then pick up CoD. Hitman is all about patience...something a majority of gamers lack nowadays.
But man you can play Hitman both ways :D I played every Hitman game like 2 times.First time stealth and patience was my choice and second time I went gun blazing...Just to see 2 different scenarios :D So if they improve gun blazing part that does not mean they will ruin our stealth fun ;) @edgewalker16
